I visited Tangwei Ancient Village today! It was pretty cool! When I entered there was an elderly Chinese lady chanting in front of an altar at the main entrance. Upon entering I discovered the ancient water well and a lady was washing dishes using its water. It was amazing to see people still living in such an ancient village! There were children playing and adults going about their business. The whole place was like a trip back in time to the Ming Dynasty. There were also a lot of chickens crossing the road in front of the main entrance. The old joke “Why did the chicken cross the road?” sprang to my mind! There were many ancient “Lingnan” style houses with gray bricks. Red lanterns were hung everywhere and banners with Chinese characters adorned the small temples and houses. I highly recommend visiting if you want to step back into Old China. Check out my YouTube video I made about this Ancient Village!
