Nice Break from the Heat
Jul 2021 • Couples
We thought this beach was in a pretty good location and offered a nice break from the heat by Hulishan. The beach had plenty of space in the middle of the day and the water was refreshing. There is a sand bar that you can walk on to get to some rocks too.

Pleasant
Dec 2020
It's a place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Always people there, but not always crowded. Clean, enjoyable view of the coast and the sun.

If you go to the fort, you're almost there, so stop by and take advantage of it.

Freshly caught seafood beach market
Sep 2020
While many Fujian men are out to sea fishing, the mostly women are selling the fresh catch alongside the beach. They were selling throughout the day, and packed up as the sun was setting.

Clean
Dec 2019 • Solo
A great large Sandy clean beach. You can just relax and enjoy looking at the sea and the rocks as no many activities are available. The only problem is the facilities. No facilities at all ( bathrooms shower rooms , lockers .... ).
Bus stop is very close

Very Clean Beach
Nov 2019 • Business
My first beach visit in China ever and I was pleasantly surprised to see just how clean it was. Cleaner than some beaches we’ve visited in the US.

As it was November there really wasn’t a lot of beach goers and they were mostly congregated in the center. Some laying down or playing in the sand but a much smaller number actually going into the water. The water itself was not that cold which was warmer than California beaches at this time of the year.

The views from the beach were scenic and we saw how large Xiamen University was as it was just across the street. Since we did not have reservations to visit the campus this was the best view we could get.

A short walk from where we were took us to an area full of food stands where the coconuts sellers were the most popular. From this spot it was another short walk to the fort for more sightseeing.

If you have time then this would be a good place to hang out and enjoy a beach day.

The Beach
May 2019 • Friends
Never a bad day at the beach. Lots of sand, good place to play and hang out. The water was not great when we were there, some debris in the surf. But the beach was warm and inviting.

Clear and clean

Not much of activities here. However if you are lucky you might be able to see some people gather around the rocks to fish.

Good to stroll along the beach. Its very clean and not polluted. However i do not see anyone goes there to swim

Xiamen University to Zeng Cuo Ann
Oct 2018 • Solo
I came on the very first week of the Golden Week of China's National Day and at every attraction in Xiamen, it was amazingly flooding with crowd of people; whether you are at Zhongshan Pedestrian Walking Street or at Nanputuo Temple or at this Baicheng Beach or at Zeng Cuo Ann village,

I could only use the Chinese phrase to describe the crowd situation as `People Mountain People Sea' (人山人海). I even got myself stuck in a human jam while crossing the overhead bridge from Baicheng Beach to Zeng Cuo Ann village.

My first impression of this beach is that it is still not as crowded as Dadonghai Beach in Sanya. I supposed the Hainan Island beach is more suitable for sea activities than this one at Xiamen.

This stretch of sandy beach actually extends from near Xiamen University to Zeng Cuo Ann Village. For me, it was not on purpose. I happened to end my route at Zeng Cuo Ann bustling village. At night, the village is so dynamic and vibrant and lined with plenty of illuminating food stalls and restaurants that sold so many tempting delicacies and sumptuous food. It is atmospheric here and even more terrifying than Zhongshan Pedestrian Walking Street. I had the opportunity to taste the many specialty seafood and unique dishes here.

I would advise those who strolled your way along this Baicheng Beach to make it a destination goal to terminate your route at Zeng Cuo Ann village and have your sumptuous meal at this place.

It took me more than an hour to walk from Baicheng Beach to Zeng Cuo Ann but it is very walkable and very relaxing. Admission is free. The prized reward was the beautiful crimson sunset that gradually disappeared into the horizon.

I was also fascinated by the many activities held at this beach. I saw a lovely young girl strumming her guitar right near the beach surrounded by a huge crowd and singing. Captivated by her stunning sweet voice, I decided to rest my feet and sat among the crowd to appreciate her songs. She was not singing for money. She just loved to entertain the crowd with her songs. I hardly ever come across such singing scene at our East Coast or Changi beaches in Singapore. I think we should learn from Xiamen.

Baicheng Beach is lovely and relaxing. Most visitors would enjoy a stroll along this beautiful beach listening to the splashing of the sea waves, the sweet entertainment songs and appreciate the sunset.

Just for an evening walk

Nothing special. We weren’t impressed by this beach, too many people and the water is clean, almost no one was having a bath. Not so much nature around it, suggest much more beaches on gulangyu island.

Not for swimming
Jun 2018 • Friends
Maybe I was confused coming to Xiamen, but I was expecting to swim and lay around under an umbrella sipping a drink and eating fruit... but that's not what you do at this beach (or any of the three beaches I visited in this city). Not a single person was swimming and there are no umbrellas or chairs. I guess you just shuffle around on the sand and take photos. So I guess if you want to shuffle around and take boring photos, this is the place for you! But if you want to swim maybe head to a different city.

(Note: I did not even try to swim. I figure there must be a reason if all these people are not swimming. I did however dip my feet in the water. I also came back home with an itchy fungus on my feet and a red rash on my leg. Perhaps this is totally unconnected, but I wouldn't dip my feet in that water if I went there in the future.)
