This coastal road starts from Xiamen University to Wuyuan Bay.With a great view of the sea and of Gulangyu Island, this is a popular stretch for biking, strolling, playing beach volleyball or just enjoying the sea breeze. There are bars and pavilions along this stretch.

What could be nicer on a warm, sunny day than a walk on the beach? May Holiday so lots of families and young lovebirds, but beach is long and wide so didn't feel crowded. Vendors selling brightly colored kites, shovels and pails along with vendors selling anything and everything made out of shells. Food vendors pushing carts and some selling... More

Going around the island gives you a good view of the sea. Usually it is not too crowded. But swimming at the beaches are not allowed. There is a nice view of Gulangyu. Some of the old streets are also accessible from the round island road.

I took bus number 29 from my hotel to have a cheap bus ride to view this beautiful road. The bus ride cost only 1 RMB. The whole journey take about an hour on the bus but from the bus I can view this beautiful road and nice sea view. Worth a visit.

We went along the road twice, on foot and by bicycle, and are going to go again - just can't have enough of it. Walking is very comfortable - there's a footpath going for about 6 km, sometimes a boardwalk and sometimes a paved path, long stretches of it are narrow bridges coming off the shore so there's a feeling... Good for an evening walk, have a coconut drink, walk down for a few kilometers... they have some good snacks in the starting.. some places in between are a bit dirty, seems to be drainage issues.

A nice evening walk! It was a wonderful walk with sea breeze and the smell of the ocean. In addition, modern art sculptures are exhibited around the beaches.

after the dinner at LinJia we walk always on the sea side nearly until we have reached the Xiamen university. Made a short stop for a theater show, some drinks or just to enjoy the ocean view and some fireworks. It is very easy to rent a bike.
