If you like Chinese calligraphy that's carved in wood, this is a must see for you. My personal highlight was magnificently saving myself from falling down the steps because I was too busy looking at my phone

This is a small building with 2 storey, displaying Asian calligraphy artworks. The exhibits are predominantly Chinese. Since I could understand Chinese writings, I could appreciate better the calligraphy being carved on the woods. There were much creativity in transforming the basic Chinese characters in art form.
10 to 15 mins is sufficient to briefly walk through the 2 floors. I visited this place since it was included in the combo ticket (100 rmb). Else entrance fee is 10 rmb, can give it a miss.

Very cool. I love modern art and it was eye opening to see the contemporary rendition of Chinese characters.

It is just a showroom to sell product. Nothing worth to have a look inside. It is just due to the ticket combo including this stop. I only spent 10min and left.

The reason I visit the International Lettering Museum is because of the package which I brought from the International harbor. The package comprise of five place of interest inside Gulangyu island at a cost 100 RMB. The place is practically empty when I went in. The museum comprise of two level and all just show Chinese lettering craft in wood. For those who do not understand Chinese this is the place not suitable for you.

It's only in Chinese (and Korean?).
It is an interesting abstract art of Chinese writing, carved in wood or some resin blocks.
There are also contributions from Japanese and Korean artists.
