Lots to sightseeing and photo opportunities in this 860 hectare national park. Said to have the highest oxygen content air in Fuzhou. Nice hiking paths. Rated as one of China's top ten forest parks. A few visitors were having picnics.

Few minutes drive from main City, National Forest Park is spread on a vast area with lots of different trees, lakes, rides for kids etc. The two major attractions of this place are Thousand years old Banyan tree & pool where you can feed bread to golden colored fish.

This park is beautiful - but remember all walks start uphill so have plenty of water and shade from the sun. There is a nice walk under trees but track is very uneven in places and runs out before the top due to storm damage. The river still shows signs of the major storm damage from 2016 - and coming back is all downhill. Lovely places to rest and relax and very friendly locals.

Easy to take a bus here.
You can do the tourist things like visit the aviary, slide ride, mini fairground or you can enjoy the nature.
Walking through the bamboo forest leads you to the tourist part. When entering the park you can stick to the left and reach the walk up the mountain. There is quite a bit of walking to get around the park but it is all pathed including up the mountain. Weekdays are better for avoiding congestion up the mountain stairway.
Take some fresh food and hire a BBQ in a designated area. A few fresh veggies for the BBQ will be sold at the entrance but nothing but pot noodles and fishballs once you get inside.
Go on the mountain slide ride just by the bamboo forest for a good laugh.

It was annoying some people caught the fish then released it into the lake. It hurts when the hook injures the fish's mouth. Can't they just watch or feed the fish instead? It is not hobby nor sports. It is cruel.
Free entrance to the park. It is large, beautiful and very pleasant to walk. There are several clean toilets. The highlight to me is the Millennium Banyan Tree which is so huge. I also love the bamboo area. There's a peacock house but I didn't visit. So many kinds of plants and trees. Later in the afternoon when it is not too hot, local people started to come and exercise.

Fuzhou National Forestry Park, also named "Fuzhou Botanical Garden", is the first national forestry park in Fujian Province and one of the top 10 national forestry parks in China. It is also one of the six national Class 4A scenic zones in Fuzhou. The park is primarily a reserve and showcase of the local tree species of Fujian. It also has 2,500+ domestic and foreign precious trees from 36 countries, including ceiba of South China, lombardy poplar of North China, Araucaria cunninghamii of the tropical region, camphor tree of the subtropical region, Chinese pine, gingko and dawn redwood of the temperate zone, etc.

The Forest Park has very gentle hills and climbing is not a tiring job because it is nothing more than walking on the level ground. One advantage of the park is limited traffic, serenity and coolness. With fresh air and diversified vegetations and bird species, it is a park in the close proximity of local Fuzhou inhabitants.
Located in the northern suburbs of Fuzhou and 7km away from the downtown, the Park has beautiful natural landscapes and is honored as one of the top ten forest parks of China. With a covering area of 850 hectares, the Park comprises four parts, i.e. Tree Zone, Forest Zone, Longtan Scenic Zone and Picnic and Vacation Zone. The famous banyan king is also located in this Park. It is also honored as the "biggest natural oxygen park of Fuzhou".
