Great visit
Feb 2021 • Family
Really wonderful to see a fully working Buddhist temple. A very large site and a nice space in the middle of the city.

The temple with many lychee trees.
Jul 2018 • Solo
The temple is located in a quiet district that can be linked by public bus very easily. The entry fee is not that much.No many tourists in the temple. That was why the whole atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. The temple, the tower, the tiny lake and many lychee trees with red, big lychees. It was quite hot in Fuzhou in July.Drinking more water and the sun prevention are important. In the temple, There is someone who was going to check my face and tell me my destiny.I refused him without a moment‘s hesitation.

Tranquil spot in the middle of the city
Feb 2019 • Friends
This place is very beautiful and surprisingly quite. There’s many temples and a beautiful lake. You can also find many gardens and places where to sit down and just relax. The entrance fee is very cheap and absolutely worth it ( this is the only place where we pay and entrance fee in the whole city)

Historic, big and interesting

This is a very nice place to visit in the city, it has many temples inside with a big lake in the middle and many trees and benches to sit and relax. The entrance ticket is very cheap, only 20 CNY. It was the only place we have to pay for. All the attraction in the city are for free.

Peaceful Oasis in Town
Dec 2018
Xichan Temple is accessible easily by public transportation since it is right in town. We visited off-peak and it is quite peaceful. No vendors hawking tourist trinkets, so it is a nice escape from the city. Temple grounds include several structures, a lake, and nice walking trails. Signs include English. Bring water in summer, but we enjoyed cool weather in December.

Interesting visit
Jul 2018
The Temple itself is quite big. It is very interesting to see the traditional Chinese architecture in the foreground of high rise buildings in the city. There are several temples in the park. It’s worth a visit if you haven’t been to any Chinese temples. The temples and the statutes could use some cleaning.

Chinese holiday - break from business
Apr 2018 • Solo
With a week long business trip to Fuzhou during the Tomb sweeping celebration I had a free day to myself so I decided to visit Xichang. Temple and the associated park. The architecture of the buildings was well worth the visit. Additionally, the park is beautiful in this spring weather with new flower blossoms including the fruit tree blossoms that line the streets just outside the Temple grounds.
Because the Tomb Sweeping celebration was going during my visit, the park was very crowded. However, this was okay as I got to see hundreds of local people celebrating this holiday paying tribute to their ancestors in traditional Chinese methods.
This was well worth the visit and a welcomed break from the duties of this business trip.
