I had a great experience at the cave, but I would really suggest taking a guide. There is so much to learn about this amazing place that having someone knowledgeable really made the experience more enjoyable. I booked my tour with Tomas from X-plore Patagonia and highly recommend you do the same. He was genuinely excited to share his knowledge of the cave and all of the animals found in the area. You will love Milodon cave and Tomas!

We visited the cave as part of a tour. Whilst its very well managed and laid out its just not very interesting. It says what it is but the milodon is not a very interesting dinosaur and there is pretty much nothing to see inside the cave. If its part of a tour it passes the time but in my view definitely not worth a special trip!

Nothing much but it is still intriguing how the cave is formed and how animals and humans alike have used this cave as shelter back in the years. Paid 8,000 CLP to enter the area. Recommend only if you have a spare time to kill or your journey passes by this area.

What an amazing cave of Patagonian history. They show you a brief video of the history on the geological find but it truly doesn’t prepare you for the cave’s enormity! We went around sunset and the sun totally lit up the cave.

It is interesting to know a space that tells the story of so many millions of years, it has representation of animals that lived there.
The space is organized.
You can buy your ticket in advance, and on the spot too. There is a price difference for those who are residents and those who are not.
It's not a long walk, but it's pretty cool. On the way, the cave has a beautiful view of the nature there.

The cave itself is bigger than ee had expected and there is a lot of information on display about the natural processes that formed it and the mega fauna that once roamed these parts.
The only slight surprise was that the onsite little shop/cafe actually only has a few Milodon themed souvenirs.
REMEMBER to enter the cave you need to have purchased a separate national park entry permit for the cave. This is separate to the Torres del Paine Park entry. The permit can be purchased online.

Caves located just 20 minutes outside town. Take left onto Y290 off route 9. Expansive open cave that you walk through. Learn about prehistical miladon creatures. Worth the nominal entrance fee. Walk to Silva del Diablo was enjoyable with good views from tall rock. Smaller caves not that impressive unless you want longer walk.

This a giant room/overhang more than a cave because it doesn’t go far beyond the opening. It is a local source of pride however as fossils and primitive skins and bones were discovered here, giving a basis for local indigenous peoples. Not worth the entrance fee IMHO.

Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument is a Natural Monument located in the Chilean Patagonia. It's just 24 km northwest of Puerto Natales.

I never thought this would be so interesting. It turned out to be the perfect ending to a full-day visit to Torres del Paine Park. The whole area is very well organized and signalled. The main cave is super interesting, you can walk in the cave and see the peculiar formation left by the receding glacier. Do not miss it if you are around the Park area!

Con ninguna! rentamos un auto y es muy fácil llegar :) Además que queda en el camino de ida/vuelta de uno de los accesos al Parque Nacional Torres del Paine

Hola. No hay transporte público hasta allí. El taxi te va a salir muy caro. Lo mejor es comprar un tour desde Natales para torres del Paine y hacer la cueva como extensión de la excursión.

Nosotros hemos ido en un tour hacia las Torres del Paine y en el trayecto pasamos por las cuevas.
Es un sitio interesante que demanda poco tiempo para recorrerla.

Hola, coincido con la conveniencia de alquilar un auto. Las rutas son bastante buenas (conviene hacerlas durante el día, de noche son muy oscuras y hay grandes distancias sin nada). En los sitios mas relevantes hay guías de turismo locales que dan excelente información. La cueva del milodón está en camino a Torres del Paine, ambos lugares son dignos de visitar.

Hi! For foreigners, the entrance to the Park is 12.000 chilean pesos. For Milodon cave, I think it's 6.000 pesos.
