I found the museum very interesting, as it tells the history of Patagonia well. And there are many old pieces that are still well preserved, and tell very clearly about what happened.
A symbolic fee is paid at the entrance.
It's right in the center and easy to find.

Really glad we walked into this little pretty town to see this museum as it gives you an in-depth understanding into the history of the area from the indigenous people right through to the first European settlers. Spent a good hour reading all the info and posters plus seeing the various artefacts arranged throughout the pioneers house. Everything is in both Spanish and English and whoever set it up and did the research did a superb job. A must see !

The terrible rating is only because we couldn’t get to see this museum- arrived Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t open as advertised. Really disappointed. I know “stuff happens” and although we won’t have the chance to visit- hopefully this not being open is an aberration. - maybe ring the day before?

Well worth a visit, if museums are your thing. Very informative about original inhabitants pre-genocide.

The museum is small, but has a wonderful exhibit of the indigenous peoples of Patagonia (most of them now extinct--killed off by settlers, whalers, and European diseases) and the pre-historic fauna of the area. They also have a large collection of photos and artifacts belonging to the early settlers--if this interests you. I am not in much empathy with them as they overgrazed the sheep in Patagonia, leading to extensive destruction of the land, as well as serving to eliminate most of the indigenous people.

Half of the display is educational and highly informative, the rest though informative is typical of a frontier town displaying its early history ... which though informative and of interest is far from riveting. Worth the entrance fee on balance ... possibly something to save for a rainy day

This is a very interesting and well done small museum, well worth the low admission fee. Captions were in English and Spanish, with detailed descriptions. The museum traces the history of the region from the early indigenous population. It is so painful to read of how they were treated by the later European settlers, even taken to Europe as exhibits like in a human zoo, not to mention other atrocities. Fully recommend an hour and half visit here.

A very well done small museum that gives lots of information on the history of the area and the indigenous populations. It goes on to trace the growth of the town through the ages. It’s worth a visit.
