It's hard to rate this street. The end near the main square is definitely very good with several nice restaurants and pathways complete etc. The other end near the beach and the middle section is just a long footpath construction zone and lots of closed restaurants, bars and buildings. To be fair it was a Sunday during the day and... More

On this street there are many museums, restaurants, and finally the main plaza at the north end. On a Saturday night in June I was lucky enough to watch the regional cueca competition in the plaza and the same night see a parade of indigenous dancers. Churro vendors and artisans abounded, along with restaurants with outdoor seating. The street almost... More

Street built utilizing traditional British Colonial architecture, very high ceilings (for temperature control), some structures with double roofs, creating breezeways used as patios as well as hanging laundry to dry, many of these structures well over 120 years old - originally a street, has been converted to a pedestrian walkway for nearly 10 blocks, with many good restaurants, museums, shops,... Went to see what happened to the past. Compliments, many houses have been properly restored and on some others, they are actively working. Last thing to do: reactivate the tram, which is beautiful!!

The restoration of the old wood (Oregon Pine from the USA-still a much sought-after wood in the upscale Chilean home) from a century ago is nice to see as progress is made year by year. There are some nice restaurants along the walk too. BUT, if there is no one in a restaurant during meal times and others are busy,... More

If you are in Iquique it is a nice street to look at with many old but restaurated buildings. It is pretty touristy though with many (more expensive) restaurants and few agencys. But at the end of it is the beach so if you are heading there might as well enjoy the walk through the old western style houses

Baquedano is a pedestrian street lined with cafes, restaurants, and little shops or artists with hand made knick-knacks. Depending on the day Baquedano can have some truly interesting and unique things to offer. Most of the restaurants are nice, but a little over priced. However, the happy hours are usually good deals! It's a nice place to stroll during the... More
