An interesting museum about the War of the Pacific and the short battle (only about 50 minutes) on El Morro when Chile took Arica from Peru. It is all in Spanish but it is a good little museum if you are interested in the history.

After walking up the 800 yards up the Morro Hill you can relax with a wander through the museum where weapons, and some infomation, from most all the military battles of Chile are represented. Well worth a visit

One of the few places in El Norte Grande where the shadows of the Pinochet era have not been brushed away. So much could be done with the displays (e.g. diplomatic relations with Bolivia and Peru), but history in this museum shows that a natty uniform and a good dose of chauvinism will win a war!

The place to go if you want to see weapons of all types without being burdened with explanations for the cause of the War of the Pacific.
