As it is often cloudy in the morning this is a nice way to fill the morning waiting for beach weather. The pelicans and sea lions are great to watch.

You can take a walk and see the fishing boats coming in and unloading their fish. If you live in Arica this is where you go to know the fish you are going to eat is Fresh. There are various ladies cutting the fish and feeding scraps to the Pelicans and Seals hanging around. I even saw the Pelicans allowing... More

I have traveled to Arica twice to renew my visa in Peru. Both times I have had ceviche from the market and it's seriously the best. Even if you think you don't like ceviche you have to try it. I recommend bringing some crackers or chips because it is 1,000 pesos for a container of ceviche but they don't sell... More

This is where the locals and port workers come to buy fish or to each a ceviche lunch. It is far from "elegant" and to some it may well be a complete turn off. To me, it is a delight. The fish are so fresh they were swimming the morning of the day you buy it. The same for the... More

We loved our walk around the market, the booths and small eateries. Lots to see and experience, pelicans and sea lions were within touching distance. This is a very rustic area, full of locals with great photo opportunities.

In the Fish Market of Arica there are some amazing sellers of the freshest fish & seafood. It makes for a great stroll and opportunity to take in all the Pacific has to offer, but it doesn't stop there. This is the place to sample the freshest Chilean Style Ceviche, too! And at rock bottom prices! From boat to wharf... More
