La Plaza has with well kept gardens, palm trees and fountains. It has a replica of Big Ben Clock and its chimes. It is a great place to rest from your walking. During siesta time, most shops are closed, if you fancy an ice cream you will need to get one, couple of streets away from the Plaza. And it... More

The area is really beautiful with plenty of palm trees, water fountains and ofcause the copy of the London Big Ben. There is missing a decent café in the area where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere. But a walk in the park is nice, but would be even better with coffee.

The clock tower of Antofagasta. The Plaza is well mantained and beautiful. It's right opposite the Church. It has fountains and some statues to enjoy.

Right in the center of Antofagasta with a clock tower and a very helpful tourist office (at Sernatur, Paseo Prat 384) where you can use their computer or access internet through wifi. One of the staff speaks English, while the others have sufficient communication skills to help you. They also have maps of the city and the region. The square... More

Dont waste your time here. Go straight to San Pedro....Antofa is just a really ugly and abandoned city. Can comment on the beaches, but town is just awful.

As a Brit, I was proud to see the impressive clock tower contributed by the British in 1910 to celebrate Chile's 100 years of independence. The plaza is spacious and airy, a pleasant place to relax in the midday heat.

A local meeting place that was once probably very nice. You can tell the city struggles for it's upkeep. Often and overpowering the smell of bird feces and human urine and feces is overwhelming. The places to sit are laden with bird feces so there aren't many 'clean' places to sit. The view is pleasant and clearly, the only, positive... More

Plaza Colon is a nice part of the city but it isn't worth making the effort to go and see. You can see much better places in Chile in different cities.

Great place to sit and watch families, workers, pigeons and dogs doing their thing. Great to stand and look up prat st all the way to the hills and admire how the city has been developed to its limits. Do look out for the pigeon droppings which are everywhere!!

This place in the same city center makes possible for visittors to take a rest, and to inhale a spirit which was here at least 200 yers earlier.
