We live in Phnom Penh for many years and Journey Cambodia has been our go to choice for any trips and activities in and around Siem Reap. We also use them whenever friends and relatives from abroad come to visit the temples and so far everyone has been tremendously happy with their services. This time around, we booked a private driver and a guide for 2.5 days and did an individualized tour that took us all the way to Preah Vihear and back. We saw many lesser know and equally impressive temples on the way. These trips are a completely different experience if you have someone local with you who is knowledgeable and able to provide you with explanations on pretty much anything you ask. If you are in Cambodia at the moment and if you can afford to do it, please consider booking through them and ensure that these lovely people can make ends meet.…

Will return to Siem Reap. Loved it. Plenty of walking and lots of steps and uneven ground. Beautiful sunset.

I would highly recommend this tour. There was and early morning pick up at everyone's hotels, b&b's etc. and then from there we went to the ticket office to buy a pass for the temples. There are a few options available and Sam our guide explained what was best depending on time you have in the area and if you were hoping to visit more temples on your own at later date. Once we had tickets we headed to Angkor Wat and Sam explained some of the history and told us we were free to wonder around but to meet him at a set time ready for sun rise. He also explained the perfect spot to stand and line up the sun with the central tower of the temple. From here we were give a tour and told some information on the history of the temple, surrounding area, and construction as well as religious stories that were carved on the gallery walls. We were also given the opportunity to head up to the top gallery. There were a few steep steps and it was already getting warm by this point but it is worth it. Once at the top there were great views of the grounds, more shrines and there was also a monk blessing people. We then went and had breakfast not to far from the temple (it had air con too). There were Western and traditional options to try and there were no complaints from anyone. Some of the group brought their own breakfast from the hotel and they were fine to eat that in the restaurant too. From there we took in Ta Prohm and then went on to the Bayon Gate and Bayon Temple. Sam explained everything to us and answered all the questions that were thrown at him. He also knew the best photo spots and was happy to take photos of the group. There was cold water handed out every time we got on or off the bus (also air conditioned) and they made sure we were all happy and comfortable. 100% book this excursion if you want to not only see the temples, but get the best photo opportunities and learn about the temples history too. Thanks Sam :)…
