I booked a 2-day trek in the forest of Phnom Kulen National Park with a night spent camping in hammocks for a party of 4. We got picked up from our hotel in Siem Reap and driven back there at the end. The trek included 1 guide and 1 forest ranger accompanying us. I would definitely recommend the experience for anyone into outdoor activities. Walking alone in the forest seeing beautiful landscapes and ruins without any tourists in sight was great! Sela, the operations supervisor, and our guide Vuthy were extremely helpful, and a treasure trove of information on everything whether Cambodian history, current socio-economic dynamics or forest fauna and flora. We all had a very enjoyable time with very interesting people, and I would definitely recommend the hammock camping part of the trek.

This really was the perfect end to my trip to Cambodia! I wanted to join a class that wasn't just in a hotel or some professional kitchen and I was not disappointed at all. Accompanying Sela and his family to the local market for breakfast and shopping was a really great experience both in terms of seeing where the food comes from and normal daily life. Sela is very enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of Cambodia, collaborative working with his community and all the lovely fresh ingredients - I learnt so much. His family are completely delightful and it was a really special opportunity to be part of their lives for a short while. The 4 meals we cooked were absolutely delicious and it's really hands on. Sela's wife kindly picked me a pestle and mortar too from the local market which I have already used since being home! Thank you so much for such a fun, educational and wonderful time!

During our travels we have been to many cooking classes in different countries. This one is by far the best we have ever attended. Our wonderful host Sela and his Wife gave us a great insight into Cambodian cooking and culture. It was a very authentic and fascinating experience. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking not only for a cooking class, but also to learn more about life in Cambodia. Pawel and Iza

We took Sela's cooking class in early January and it was great. We would recommend it to anyone visiting Siem Reap It is a must, especially if you like good food and learning about Cambodia. He and his co-chef were wonderful hosts and teachers. Both are passionate about food, the environment and their homeland. We learned a lot about Khmer food, from the trip to the market to the hands-on cooking. The fact that it was just the four of us allowed for casual conversation about life in Cambodia, Sela's farm/restaurant and food. It's also nice that he takes photos throughout and puts them in DropBox so we could get them later. It saved us from having to stop and take photos. It is a very thoughtful gesture! One thing we would say is to prepare yourself for the trip to the market. If you are a little sleepy, get coffee before you go. The market is a lot to take in. It was definitely one of our highlights in Cambodia!

Sela was warm and welcoming. His knowledge and the way he gives back to his community are very impressive. We picked this class because the day and time worked best for our schedule but now after spending the day with Sela, I would strongly recommend arranging your schedule to go learn and cook with him.
