After a scooter accident in Thailand kept my husband and I from being able move around by foot, we thought horseback would help us be able to enjoy the Cambodian country side.

The people at Happy ranch did a great job of screening us for experience; (my husband and I are very experienced riders. We own 4 of our own horses and ride regularly). But the accident necessitated a well broken horse.

We selected the 4 hour ride and our guide Dyna shared historical information while taking us through the area. He was very knowledgeable and spoke pretty good English.

The staff was terrific about helping us mount and dismount, given our injuries.

The horses are very well cared for. Our guide stopped half way through to give both horse and riders a break. The horses were fed at that time and tied in the shade.

Upon our return, the horses were immediately cooled with a hose and their gear stripped.

We were given cool water and chatted with another employee, Sokun. She also had terrific English and we found her background very similar to ours, (she is from the country, and loves animals etc.) She gave us a great deal of information that was of interest.

Overall, this was a great experience.very clean grounds. Nice people. Enjoyable time. My only advice is to be honest about your skill level.

Hard to beat this! Beautiful little horse ranch. The horses seem really well cared for... the facilities are immaculate. I am a novice rider and my wife is experienced. They took us out on a two hour ride through the countryside and local village. English speaking guide was great... lots of fun. Maybe a little expensive for Cambodia ($60 each for 2 hours) but they are doing a great job employing over 40 locals, keeping the horses and grounds well so it felt like good value. .

Not far from the city centre, this farm is a horse riders paradise with its vibrant green lawns and very tidy stables.
Horses picked for our skill level with caring guides who keep a good eye on you all the way.
A great way to see the people of Cambodia in their villages and see the rice fields.

We really like the idea of going out horse riding in Siem Reap and booked a 2 hour trail ride . On arrival we were well looked after and shown around. Then had a full brief on how to ride etc. and off we went. We felt safe and also could see the horses were in very good condition and happy. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. And we would highly recommend this for a wonderful time. As we went through villages, people would come the wave and say hi. Definitely something special about being on horseback.

Staff were all lovely, helpful and experts in their own rights. I had booked for a 4 hours ride, but upon hearing that I do not have any experience with horseback riding, they recommended a 3 hours ride instead. and boy, am I glad to have listened to their advice!

Horses seem well-taken care of, and the guide that followed me had limited command in the English language but he tried anyways! He would check in with me every now and then to ensure that I'm doing alright, providing little tidbits of history whenever possible. He is quite encouraging and would suggest to have a little run with my horse, Dara which I appreciate having the fast pace!

would love to go again!

We went on the two hour trek. We asked our hotel to ring and book for us. We arrived just after two pm and they took us on a trek at 2.30pm so basically they accomodated us wihtout us having to wait for the 3pm tour which was really nice of them ( we would have been happy to wait). The place looked really nice. The staff were lovely and our Guide Kong was incredible. He kept us beginners safe. We loved it. Its a great way to see the real cambodia, the little villages and rice fields. so cool.

I recently visited this ranch for a trail ride, being my first time ever riding a horse, and it was an incredible experience. The staff were lovely and explained everything to me. I felt safe and comfortable. The horses were all well looked after and the facilities were excellent. Our guide was great too and spoke good English. Next time I visit siem reap I am defiantly coming back here!

We just done the 3 hour ride which was incredible! My partner had never riden before and wasn’t looking forward to it but when we got off said he wanted to go again because he enjoyed it so much!!

Horses at riding stables on holiday i often find can be either very lazy and hard work to keep going or the complete opposite and really hard to control but these horses were the perfect balance. We felt safe at all times as we had two fantastic guides who were with us and I expected to be part of a group but we went out just us with the guides which was nice. Their English was fantastic and we saw some really lovely Cambodian countryside

I would definitely recommend!!

I went with Mr K. to the temple which included the tour through the village and farmland. My horse Ohio was quite sensitive to my impulses and stayed calm even in traffic. MrK took some fabulous pictures with my smartphone. I did not purchase the temple ticket so we just stayed outside. To be repeated next time I hit Siem Reap.

Lucy is a great host, the horses are beautiful, the scenery is gorgeous (especially in the early morning) and the people you meet along the way make you wish you could stay in Siem Reap even longer....
