What a terrific option to round out the Siem Reap experience! The Cambodian-American owner is a real pro and runs a fabulous operation with a talented, caring staff and a stable of healthy, extremely well treated horses. We enjoyed a leisurely two-hour ride - with an occasional trot and center - through rice paddies, lotus ponds, and a small temple complex. The horses were friendly, and each had its own personality. It was wonderful and we highly recommend the Happy Ranch.

Really enjoyed our two hour hack around the Cambodian countryside. We are both experienced riders having ridden for over 20 years each and we found it very fun and a nice way to see Cambodia from a different perspective. Our guide, Kong, was informative and friendly. The horses were really well looked after and as soon as we got back from our hack, they were washed off and put in the shade. All the horses were inside in the middle of the day when it was hottest. The horses were also given a rest in the middle of our hack for about 10 minutes which was nice. They were both well behaved. Would definitely recommend to do it and would do it again.

After a scooter accident in Thailand kept my husband and I from being able move around by foot, we thought horseback would help us be able to enjoy the Cambodian country side. The people at Happy ranch did a great job of screening us for experience; (my husband and I are very experienced riders. We own 4 of our own horses and ride regularly). But the accident necessitated a well broken horse. We selected the 4 hour ride and our guide Dyna shared historical information while taking us through the area. He was very knowledgeable and spoke pretty good English. The staff was terrific about helping us mount and dismount, given our injuries. The horses are very well cared for. Our guide stopped half way through to give both horse and riders a break. The horses were fed at that time and tied in the shade. Upon our return, the horses were immediately cooled with a hose and their gear stripped. We were given cool water and chatted with another employee, Sokun. She also had terrific English and we found her background very similar to ours, (she is from the country, and loves animals etc.) She gave us a great deal of information that was of interest. Overall, this was a great experience.very clean grounds. Nice people. Enjoyable time. My only advice is to be honest about your skill level.
