Our guide, Sopheara, took us on the "minor" and "major" loop over a two day period. Wow! First, I would recommend a guide to anyone, as there is not signage at the beautiful temples and ruins. Without understanding, the beauty of Angkor Wat could feel repetitive. But with understanding, each temple is a unique experience and each wall relief tells an entertaining story. Sopheara was a phenomenal guide who was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our barrage of curious questions and provide answers to questions we did not even know to ask. He complimented his excellent tour with great local lunch recommendations. We had two very full, very history- and knowledge-packed days, and left extremely happy. Thanks, Sopheara - we would recommend you to anyone who wanted to do a tour of Angkor Wat.

We spent two days touring the temples and the Floating Village. We learned a lot and could not ask for a more professional guide.

We have used Angkor Tourist Guide 3 times in the last two years. Sopheara has been our tour guide on all three occasions. He is passionate about Khmer history and culture. And he is extremely knowledgable. It’s not just the Angkor Temple Complex but also the outlying Angkor and Pre Angkor temples (eg Preah Vihear and Banteay Chmer. He is also highly reliable, has a good command of English and a delightful sense of humour. I am sure that the co guides in his team are just as good. I cannot recommend him more highly.

I first visited Siem Reap in December 2018, with well-travelled friends who make frequent visits to Cambodia, and we used Sopheara Pheav of Angkor Tourist Guide. Sopheara is an extremely knowledgeable, personable and engaging young man who does everything he can to make a visit informative, enjoyable and memorable. In 2018, Sopheara was our guide for four days around Siem Reap in the course of which we visited eleven of the major Khmer temples and about a dozen of the lesser ones. This sounds quite hard work, but Sopheara kept us absorbed throughout by the amazing breadth of his knowledge, his excellent spoken English, and his unflagging enthusiasm. An air-conditioned vehicle helped us to cool down between temples. On my second visit (February 2020), Sopheara and his excellent driver Ming took us on a series of day trips. The first, and most ambitious, was to both Bakan (aka Preah Khan Kampong Kdei) and Sambor Prei Kuk in a single day. This involved a lot of driving, and with hindsight it might have been better to overnight in the Kampong Thom area. Sopheara could then have shown us his childhood home near Stoung (he and his young family now live in Siem Reap) which would have added another layer of interest and experience to our travels. Our second day trip with Sopheara was to Preah Vihear which is perched in the Dangrek mountains on the very edge of the Cambodia/Thailand border. The temple and also its location, with far-reaching views over both countries, was unforgettable. On the third day we visited Bantay Chmaar to the north of Sisophon, which is on the road from Siem Reap to Battambang, our next destination. Another important and under-visited temple complex, much of it unrestored, and Sopheara walked us through the extensive ruins, helping us to make sense of it all. And finally Sopheara stayed on for us in Battambang, to introduce us not only the French colonial city and the excellent small museum, but also the ruined temples of Ek Phnom and Basaet not far out into the countryside. So whether you want a general tour of the Angkor temples on a first visit, or a more detailed exploration of these and other aspects of Cambodia during subsequent stays, I would strongly recommend Sopheara of ATG as your guide. I can honestly say that, throughout the fairly rigorous itineraries described above, his good humour and courtesy never failed and his company on the long car journeys was an asset. As a tourist in a foreign country it’s very difficult to engage with the local people other than in the most superficial way, but Sopheara made us very welcome to his country, and I look forward to further visits and insights in the future. Thanks Sopheara - you're a great guy and a great guide

Mr. Ranny was exactly on time, and we got to the temples by 9:00 a.m., for an engaging, informative, and very personable tour of Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, and Kravan Temple. Since we both had eaten a big, late breakfast, we motored through to the last one without a lunch stop. Nonetheless, Mr. Ranny made sure I had enough cold water, shade, and restroom stops. He gave history, Art, engineering, religion, political and personal background on each of the sites we visited. He took great, instagramable photos of me to share with friends and family. I spent more on this tour than any other attraction in Siem Reap, but I felt like it was really worthwhile. Thanks for a great day!
