About
I have been a professional tour guide for more than 18 years and have worked for tour agencies and hotels. I am very friendly and sociable, speak English fluently, and am comfortable taking visitors around Siem Reap for historic, cultural, and urban activities. I am also a skilled photographer who uses a range of DSLR cameras and lenses to produce high-quality photos for people to take home for their memories.

Rany is the perfect tour guide for your trip to Siem Reap. He laid out multiple options for us to visit the temples and was very easy to communicate with. His service is very professional - always on time, plans meals in advance, and provides thoughtful touches like cold water and towels. He knows the area very, very well, which is very helpful to navigate the crowds. But the best part is the photos he will take with his professional camera. He has a great eye for perfect shots, and he just loves to take beautiful photos. You can book just a great tour guide, or you can book a great tour guide and a professional photographer for the same price!

We had an incredible experience touring Cambodia with Rany. Rany speaks
excellent English, drives a very comfortable and clean Lexus with AC (a
must)! I started planning my trip with Rany a year ago. He was very
responsive by email from the very beginning and helpful every step of the
way offering recommendations for maximizing our four full days to enjoy the
highlights of the Siem Reap area. From the moment Rany picked us up from
the airport with cold bottled water and refreshing lemongrass scented and
chilled hand towels we knew we were in good hands.

Rany is not only an excellent guide who is always on time but he's an
outstanding photographer who took artistic pictures of us with his camera.
We provided him with a memory card and at the end of our trip he handed it
back to us with hundreds of beautiful photographs at no additional charge.
When Rany wanted to share photographs, he thought we would appreciate right
away, he would airdrop them to my phone and allowed me to share his hotspot.
It was wonderful not having to ask other tourists to constantly take our
photograph or carry around a selfie stick.

Rany educated us on Cambodia history, culture, Buddhism and everyday life.
It's difficult to capture the essence of a county from reading about it but
hearing firsthand experiences made such a difference in our appreciation and
understanding. Rany was flexible and when we asked him how rice was
harvested or how palm sugar was made, he would pull the car over to the side
of the road and show us.

Rany also understood the type of restrooms we would appreciate and would do
his best to take us only to "5-star" accommodations. Rany truly took care
of us and made us feel comfortable. When my flipflop broke one day, he took
it home and built an impressive hook within the shoe that will last forever.
He always went the extra mile.
I cannot speak highly enough about Rany and recommend his tour guide
services to everyone!

This review is over a year late from our trip in November 2022 for which we are very sorry. However, the fact that we are writing it at this point of time should indicate to the reader just how much of a special experience it was. Ramy is a very thoughtful, knowledgeable and considerate tour guide. On our first day he picked us up at 4:30 in the morning so he could get us to Ankor Wat with ample time to find a good spot to see the sun rise over this stunning wonder. It was a magical experience. He was kind and courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the temples we visited. Helping us to make sense of carvings, statues and architecture that we so along the way.

We spent two full days with him touring a variety of temples and also a floating fishing village. He was very easy going but engaged and eager share not only all of his knowledge about ancient history, but also help us to understand a bit about everyday life in Cambodia in present times. If it wasn’t for his carefully constructed itinerary and his skill as a tour guide we wouldn’t have gotten to see so much or gain so much understanding about the places we were seeing or the country we so privileged to visit. And he is a very skilled photographer and took amazing photos of us which is something we were not expecting.

When we got back from our trip to SE Asia life rushed back in and we forgot to write our review, but a little over a year later we were reflecting about our experiences there and realized we never wrote our review about this awesome experience. We thought to ourselves: better late than never! We would be remiss and do a disservice to the memory of this very special tour and this very nice and thoughtful man. Book a tour with him! You will not regret it and you will learn a lot!!!!

I booked with Rany for a 3-day private tour including transportation. When inquiring, he was very responsive to my e-mails. We wanted to avoid ticking boxes with regards to visiting sights and give time to explore properly. Rany was very flexible in terms of the itinerary and was able to adjust it as necessary. At the temples, he gave proper introduction and explained a brief history while going into details when necessary or when details are requested. His knowledge of the temples in terms of the history as well as what is on the ground now is excellent (e.g., while others skimmed through Ta Prohm, he revealed the secrets of this amazing temple). His explanations had the right level of detail and he was also very patient to answer any follow up questions. He also knew the best angles for taking photographs at each sight. Being a passionate photographer, he took superb photos of us at sights and provided them (thank you for the photos, Rany). We got a great tour as well as great photos.

I would highly recommend him and would definitely book again.

Rany took us on a day tour around some of Siem Reap's most amazing sites. We started out with a tour of AKW in the early hours and went on to Ang Kor Thom and Ta Prohm Temple.

Rany was amazing not because he doubled as our private photographer but because of his depth of knowledge about the cultural and historical history of cambodia. Anything you wanna know, Rany would be able to provide with an in depth explanation of the many nuances in the area.

Would highly recommend Rany if you're interested in really knowing beyond what's found on the internet and understanding the struggles of the cambodian people or if you just need great pictures for your gram. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend him as your guide.

My wife and I had the pleasure of touring with Rany for three days around the Siem Reap area in June 2022. Rany is a wonderful guide, speaks perfect English, and is an incredible (basically professional) photographer to boot. Over the course of three days we covered a BIG itinerary. Day 1: Kampong Khleang floating village,
Tonle Sap lake boat ride, Beng Mealea temple, &
Bantey Srey temple. Day 2: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, & Ta Prohm tomb raider temple. Day 3: Phnom Kulen (scenic lookout, mountain top temple, 1000 Linga, & waterfall) as well as Cambodia Landmine Museum and APOPO Landmine Rat tour! Rany was very comprehensive in his historical and cultural discussion, flexible in scheduling activities, and maintained a pace we could handle (Wife was pregnant at the time). I would recommend Rany to anybody looking for all inclusive guide services in and around Siem Reap. 10/10 Experience!

It is truly an amazing 2 days of sightseeing with Rany. Me and my girlfriend made many happy memories that were recorded by his camera. Rany is also knowledgable about Hindu mythologies and Buddhism. His storytelling captivated us while showing us around the temples. There is so much to learn about Cambodian histories and a knowledgeable and experienced guide will greatly help.

Rany also helped us navigate pass the heavy flow of tourists and we end up getting a few of the temples to ourselves alone. As they say, a picture tells a thousand words. Throughout his clients' reviews, you can see the countless pictures he took and given freely. He also bought us local desserts off the street that tasted absolutely amazing and took the trouble to explain what are the ingredients that went into it. Small moments like this makes beautiful memories that lingers a lot longer. I can't recommend Rany enough if you are looking to engage a guide!

Wish I found this page earlier! Rany was super patient, kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. It's not easy to find a tour guide who's good at photography, or a photographer willing to spend a day being your tour guide, but Rany can do both. I would suggest booking in advance to secure your spot. As I contacted him on short notice and he was only available on my last day in Siem Reap (by which time I had already done the usual temple tours), we ended up just walking around taking pictures for a few hours. Got some great shots, he's clearly very passionate about photography and I would highly recommend him.

We loved Rany! He is an amazing tour guide who taught us so many interesting things about the history of Cambodia and Angkor Wat. He knows super well how to navigate all the temples in Siem Reap and find the best spots away from all the tourist crowds which you will inevitable find in Siem Reap. But Rany is not only a great tour guide, he is also an amazing photographer! He knows the best photograph spots. He took amazing photos of us with his camera. Thanks to Rany we will always remember Siem Reap as a magical place. Thank you so much, Rany! 🙏
