This is a must visit destination if you travel to Siem Reap. Suggest you get a tuk tuk from town (not too far away but you don't want to walk in the high heat and humidity) and have them wait for you while you explore as it's not a large place.

The venue has a workshop and a gallery. A lady named Sina spoke perfect English and walked me through the workshop and the process they undergo, including the lacquerware and how they make some of the art pieces, including the one I eventually ordered.

I fell in love with a particular piece with silver leaf lotus flowers but it was mounted on wood (ie high freight costs and custom issues) and didn't have fish. Sina indicated that they could custom make something for me, put it on canvas, and add koi that I wanted (rather than the catfish they usually have). I prepaid including freight cost, which was very reasonable given it was made to order. Sina also sent me a picture of different koi via Whatsapp for me to choose which ones I wanted.

The canvas arrived professional packaged so it wouldn't be damaged in transit. I had it stretched and mounted on a floating frame (attached) at 176x93cm.

I highly recommend this place and to take home (or order) a high quality piece of art work at a reasonable price and support the local community.

Fabulous Work.

The studio is probably a bit off the beaten path for many tourists to Siem Reap. But it is well worth it. Their work is significantly higher quality than the generic mass produced stuff that tends to be in the night market etc.

The hours listed are incorrect. The studio is open from 9am until 5pm. After that, you may be lucky to find that Eric is still in the studio and can take one to the show room. But I would NOT gamble on it. Coming during working hours has the added bonus of being able to see the craftspeople at work.

Eric’s story is also worth listening to. Overall. I strongly recommend going if you are in Siem Reap.

The lacquer work ...both wooden articles and wall pictures (some on canvas, some on wood) are truly lovely and highly original. Our large purchases were delivered to our hotel in very intelligent, protective packaging ready to be checked through as baggage items.

Definitely worth finding this place( get a tuk tuk) if you want to see some of the most beautiful designs and crafted pieces of work anywhere in the world.
You can learn and see how these pieces are made and then view the gallery. Every piece is stunning and the colours and materials used are amazing.
These are true works of art and hence really don't come cheaply.
Come here if you want to purchase something out of the ordinary that will always be treasured.

We ran into a French denizen of Siem Reap on the morning of our last day in Siem Reap, and he told us to forget the museum and go to the Angkor Artwork for some real Cambodian craft. The Kmehr Rouge killed all the intelligencia in the country and there was nobody alive who knew how to do this craft that was hundreds of years old in Cambodia. Volunteers from France came and retaught the Cambodians. The result is this amazing workshop.

You can see the applications and mixing of the lacquers and appreciate the construction of the pieces. The gallery has many beautiful pieces for sale. I knew from the minute we stepped inside that my wife needed a piece. We bought a beautiful 32 inch square lacquer painting with many leaf appliques of gold and red. It is beautiful. The cost was $400 US, and worth it. When asked how I could get it home, I was told that it would be at my hotel, ready to carry, in an hour. And it was. Rolled and protected in a hard plastic tube, we carried it to the U.S. and had it stretched on a frame for about $150. It looks fabulous on our wall.

Loved the artwork we saw in hotel. When I googled the artist I saw that studio was 10 min by tuk tuk away from hotel.
So off we go before heading to Hanoi.
We arrived at 12:30 to Eric coming out apologizing that no one was there because everyone is on break from 11-1
He insisted we stay and he gave us a tour of studio and gallery.
It was fascinating and I kept saying over and over that I was so glad we came
In the end, we asked for a specific Buddha which he will make for us.
We wanted to buy so many pieces but he said that we shouldn’t empty his gallery !!! It will take a long time to replenish.
Cannot wait for it to arrive.
Thanks again for the tour.

In our hotel we had admired the stunning artwork and asked where it was from. We were directed to Angkor artwork and so hopped on a tuk tuk and took the short trip to the workshop and gallery. It was the end of the working day so the girls had gone home but Eric was there and happily showed us and our boys around and explained the techniques used in the different pieces.
We had been looking for some art to decorate our new bedroom back home in France and loved the style and techniques used at Angkor artwork. We decided to order a piece.
Eric was so helpful and relaxed. He didn't even asked for a deposit . We were leaving Cambodia in 2 days time so he said he would send us a photo once the artwork was completed and if we wanted anything changing we could as he could easily sell the piece and do another. That wasn't necessary as he took note of all the leaves we loved and the techniques we wanted and created a piece just for us.
Back home in France we transferred the money and our beautiful art was delivered soon after.
We love the fact it reminds us of our amazing Cambodia trip but has links to France too. Fantastic people, stunning art - visit , you'll want to buy something too !

The art here is very beautiful. The owner is also very nice and so are his staff. If you are looking for high quality art, this gallery is a great option. The average piece was about $200 USD-ish and up and worth every penny.

I had carefully studied fair trade shops for some time before embarking on our Southeast Asia trip. As it turned out, the shop was only 5 minutes from our hotel. I purchased the Golden Buddha which I fell in love with on the website, and am awaiting its shipment. One of the pluses was meeting the young woman who created it. I always try to meet the artist, if possible. I am highly selective in my purchases, and this shop exceeded my expectations!

I chanced upon this workshop, set behind a row of ordinary shops. The very informative tour of the workshop, impressed as I was at the level of skill, did not, however, prepare me for the showroom. Not only was everything beautifully presented, each piece was a work of art. The continual development and commitment to the art of lacquer was what sets this apart. If you are looking for a unique piece for yourself or for a gift, this is an ideal place.
