About Angkor Wat Photography Workshops and Tours
Angkor Wat Photography Workshops and Tours is not a regular tour company. We don’t tell you much about the history of Cambodia over the last 1000 years because we simply don’t know. What we know is where to make the best pictures and we certainly know how to handle a camera! Our tours are “Instructed photography tours”" - that means we teach you how to handle you camera and how to improve your pictures. We focus our tours on photography. A photographer will guide you through the temples of Angkor, the Tonle Sap lake, Phnom Kulen or the city of Siem Reap helping and teaching you to make the best possible pictures while showing you all the highlights of this great country. WE SPEAK GERMAN AND ENGLISH!

I had an excellent experience in my half day tour with Nabil, he knew every corner of every temple in Angkor Wat. We did first the sunrise reflections beginning at 4:45 am with a TukTuk from my hotel, we visited three temples and Nabil knew what route to take to avoid the big crowds. Finding the best spots and the best angles for great photos was really fast and easy with Nabil expertise. Booking the tour with Matthias was also easy and helpful. If you are interested in photography while in Siem Reap, don't hesitate and visit their website.

Before our holiday I had already booked 2 photography tours for me and my husband. Everything had been discussed by mail with Matthias and it was all arranged in a very pleasant way. The tours were at the beginning of March. In the morning Nabil – our photography guide - picked us up at our hotel. First he told us something about aperture, bracketing, metering, ISO etc. Then we went to the monastery and the market in Siem Reap. After lunch we went to a temple and to Tonlé Sap lake to see the sunset. On the second day we went to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat. After that we went to the Ta Nei temple, a very beautiful temple with hardly any tourists. After a lunch break we went to Preah Khan, a really wonderful temple. We were very lucky to have Nabil as our guide. He is a great photographer and a very kind man. He gave us many suggestions how to improve our photos. I really liked that. I’ve learned so much during these 2 days. We were lucky we were staying some more weeks in Cambodia, so we could exercise with all Nabil had told us. I’m very glad we’ve done these photography tours. My photos have really improved. Nabil didn’t only tell us a lot about photography, but also about Cambodia. We liked that very much. The atmosphere during the tours was very relaxed. Nabil also told us the temples are even more beautiful at the end of the rainy season. A very good reason to come back and do some tours again!

I arranged this private tour at the last minute. The communication and booking with Matthias was quite easy. The private tour though a bit pricey by Cambodian standards is strongly recommended instead of joining the group tour. My guide was Nabil who arrived on time to pick me up at the hotel. He was quite flexible and we started with Angkor for the sunrise which was not very spectacular. However we got some goo shots of the temple. We then went to Ta Prohm and then Banteay Srei temples which were spectacular. Based on Nabil's suggestion we also went to Ta Nei which most people skip. However it was great for photography. Nabil showed me a lot of good angles and his concepts of photography which was a good addition to my repertoire. Overall I was quite happy with the experience. It would be good if Nabil also adds some angles for portrait photography in the same tour. I realised that the temples are not only great by themselves but also great locations to shoot some good family pictures.

Our photography tour with Antal was incredible. His knowledge on photography was exceptional. He took the time to work with my wife and I as amateurs. Couldn’t have asked for more!!!
