Having travelled widely across various countries across the continents, one of the most memorable sites for me would always be the great ruins of Angkor Wat. It is a mesmerising and breathtaking experience visiting each and every corner of this wonderful piece of architecture built centuries back. The Bayon temple in the close vicinity is equally beautiful and the architecture is astounding.

Went there for 4 days 3 nights trip with my girl friend. We went to Tonle Sap tour the first day when we arrived. Managed to bargain the $25 tour to $18(RM55) and it's just some floating village with some dead pig floating around the village. The tuk-tuk ride to that village from the town takes about 45mins, dusty and bumpy roads. Be prepared with face mask or something. Second day we bought the 1 day pass that cost $20(RM60) to see the Angkor Wat, managed to take one or two picture of the sunrise, it was crowded and the rest of the ruins looks the same, same goes to the other temples/ruins after Angkor Wat. As this was a budget trip, we didn't want to spend more on other tours like the National Park which cost $25 not including 2hours tuk-tuk ride of $10, total cost $35(RM105) for carvings on the stone around the waterfall and climb up up the hill for the Buddha temple. I've been to other countries before this, even western countries and their tour they offer probably cost a little more than this but food and water included and other smaller attractions along the way. Tours here in Siem Reap is pretty costly and apart from all the ruins there's nothing much you can do there other than enjoying their cheap local brew $0.50 draft beer and cheap cocktails at pub street. But I gotta say their boutique hotels here were pretty well maintain and good service. Most of the people here can speak fair English.

My First trip to siem reap 4 night 5 days, arrange 3 day private car and chinese speaking guide, 1st day visit Angkor Wah, Ta Prohm Bayon Temple ,Angkor Archaeological Park,Pre Rup, Bantay Srei,Angkor Thom, guide fee USD25 daily ,Private car USD30 daily, temple pass USD40 per person for 3 days , you need the pass go most of the tourist point so keep it in your pocket don't lose it or you have to buy again. 2nd day visit Kulen Mountain National park about 1.5 hrs from most of hotel and driver will ask 60 to 65 USD for trip and ticket is USD20per person, you must arrive the Park before 12noon ,we visit the river of a thousand ling as,Kompong Kleang village, Koulen mountain waterfall .the road are narrow and hard to drive as lots of holes on the surface. It is not worth to visit this waterfall as the water are brown colour and place are dirty and commercialised.
