Our trip included a visit to the crocodile farm and the floating village for $20. The crocodile farm is little more than a floating cage and the trip around the village did nothing to excite (10 minutes motoring around the village). This is a waste of money. We have done the same trip at sunset previously where we had a meal... More

We had booked this trip and then I read the reviews below and was having second thoughts, we booked with and used a local (professional ) guide, she organised transport (a car) and took us out to the dock from our hotel, from the dock out around the floating village, telling us about the people who live out here and... We made the mistake of coming here to visit the lake and not reading other trip advisor reviews. We paid 20usd each to take the boat trip. The boat trip lasted less than an hour. We were taken to a floating community shop to 'purchase' something for the floating school. When we got to the 'school' I felt it was... More

Paid $50 for a "floating market" or in the case a 20 min boat journey to a floating tin shed where you are made to feel incredibly guilty if you don't buy bags of rice for the floating school adjacent. A school which you do not get to visit. Each bag of rice was $45 dollars. They pushed us to... More

We were charged USD30 each for a cruise into the floating village. It started off promising with a 20 minute boat journey along a river - it was interesting to see the boats / homes and our tour guide shared some basic info. We saw the floating village in the distance. And that's as close as we got. We were... More

The poverty of Tonle Sap Lake is obvious their way of life and a Tourist attraction that creates $$$ for some. I didn't take the boat cruise $35 felt I was getting ripped off. In town tickets are $20 to $25. I did walk the main street where locals live on and off the lake.

Avoid at all cost! Usd20 per person for a short less than 1 hr ride. We rode out 15min and got off at one Hut, saw a few sad crocodiles trapped in inhumane conditions, some catfish, then back on boat headed back to pier. End of tour. My jaw dropped to the ground!!! Stumped and cheated!! You've been warned. Though... More

I have never felt so ripped-off before, that I just have to drop in a review to warn people not to waste their money. After visting the floating villages at Inle in Myanmar, this cannot compare. We were told that since it was the hot season, the lake waters are an ugly, muddy color. On arrival, you see many BUS-load... More
