We booked the two day tour and we loved it, it was just amazing!
Ratanak is an incredibly nice guy and his knowledge is amazing.
He has incredible knowledge of Angkor and history, he also has an incredible amount of knowledge about the history and historical background of his home country.
Beside he is incredibly good at conveying all of this and all of this in excellent English.
He is 100% reliable, the whole tour is perfectly organized and thought out.
Last but not least, Ratanak is an incredibly nice and funny fellow who is always up for a joke!
We booked a private tour, which I can only recommend, even though the tour may cost a few dollars more, I can only recommend the company 100%.
Nothing to complain about everything is worth every penny.
Thank you again for incredible 2 days that left a lasting impression on us.
All the best Ratanak, see you next time.
Regards
Matthias

If you want to book a tour for the Temples in Angkor, Ratanak is the guy to get!
He has a really broad knowledge regarding the history of the temples and knows all the background and mythologies the carvings describe. Ratanak is also an amazing photographer and went out of his way for the best pictures!
He drove us around the temples with a a/c cooled car and provided us as much water as we could drink.

The only thing that was not perfect was the lunch on the first day. He took us to some expensive restaurant (average food - 7$ per meal) which felt like a tourist trap.

Summary: I would recommend Ratanak 100% to everyone!

Ratanak took us on a one and a half day tour around Angkor Wat and some of the less visited temples to the east. He was by far the best guide I have had to any historical site in Asia. His English is outstanding, his knowledge of the sites impeccable and he has a good sense of when to provide more information and when to let us have a look around and enjoy the view. His communication with us before we arrived was excellent - he sent several WhatApp messages confirming all information and timing and was prompt in replying. He is also a fantastic photographer - he knows all the best angles for a shot and was a whiz with both my iPhone and my SLR. Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure to do a two day trip at the Angkor Temples with Eath Ratanak, The Angkor Guide.
Everything went smoothly, from the inquiry to the booking till the pick up in time.
Earth knows a lot of the history and the temple’s, he explained several details and context well and understandably.
I would especially like to emphasize that we partly used side entrances and thus did not get me in the way with the mass of tourists. I was able to see several „hidden“ insights.
Thank you Eath for a great time as I enjoyed it much

Ratanak was a knowledgeable, polite and entertaining guide for our visit recently. He was our driver, personal photographer and also our source of interesting facts for many places we visited.

He also had the foresight to shuffle our timing slightly to avoid congestion due to religious holidays and took alternate entrances to attractions to avoid some of the crowds. I would recommend him to anyone who asks!

Nak is one of the most informed, knowledgeable, and patient humans on this planet. He is so incredibly friendly and kind, it made our tour especially memorable. He waited on us to take as many pictures of different reliefs as we wanted, and had some really good photography tips. Our trip around the temples would not have been the same without him! You will absolutely not regret hiring this man!

Ratanak is the best you could find in Siem Reap. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and great at photos too!. He took us on a 3 day tour to the temples and phnom kulen. If you’re ever in town, he’s the guy for you.

Having booked Ratanak due to the rave reviews on trip advisor, I was quite disappointed. Having only 1 day in Siem Reap and at Angkor Wat, we had agreed a strict itinerary in advance. The highlight of this was going to be the sunrise from Angkor Wat which we have heard is amazing. Rather then taking us to the sunrise at Angkor Wat in the morning (having woken up at 4.30 am), he decided to take us elsewhere in the complex. Unfortunately, being 5am and pitch dark, we did not realise until it was far too late that we were not at the correct spot – when we asked him why, his reason was simply that he had thought we had wanted to go to this spot for the sunrise – when I showed him the itinerary that we had agreed he simply shrugged it off without any apology. Although this was a very disappointing start to the day for us, we were determined to make the most of our visit and gave him the benefit of the doubt. We were then taken to a number of temples –which I must admit started off with the explanations, in good English and he also took a number of nice pictures. During lunch, although we had explained that we were vegetarian, he still took us to a restaurant with very limited options and explained that’s all we will get in that area (we suspect because he got a chance to sit with his “friends” )- as you can imagine, we later learned that this was not true. He also did not think to mention that I would need my cardigan to cover up which was left in the car to enter the Angkor Wat temple even after I had asked him a number of times to confirm that it would not be required again (as I had been unable to get into a previous temple) and he had assured me that it was not going to be required again; we were instead forced to buy another item as he seemed reluctant to go back for it although the car was only a few minutes away. We then asked him to accompany us to the top temple of Angkor Wat to explain facts to us as part of the tour and he eventually did so but with great reluctance as it seemed like he could be bothered to climb up the last few steps and disappointingly, whilst we were at Angkor Wat, he spent a great percentage of his time and attention on his phone texting/ mailing instead of focusing on explaining the tour and would only respond when asked a question seeking further detail.
I believe that there are much better tour guides out there and I am looking forward to another trip to Cambodia with a more professional guide.

I was in Vietnam and could only spare 2 days to visit Siem Reap. I arranged for a guide to pick me up from the airport take me to my hotel and then onto the temples. My guide was Ratanak Eath http://theangkorguide.net/index.php he speaks good English and is knowledgeable on both the temple history and the best times to visit which temples to avoid crowds. He also has a passion for photography and helped me find some great shots of my own.

We recently returned to Siem Reap for a weekend getaway after visiting five years ago. We reached out rather last minute to Ratanak who was such an extraordinary guide for us way back when, and as sheer luck would have it, he was able to spend a day with us. And oh, how lucky we are! Ratanak remains, hands down, the best guide we have known in our time in Asia. As a native Cambodian, he is extraordinarily knowledge about the history and culture of Angkor Wat, Siem Reap and all things Cambodian. He is empathetic, witty, and reads his clients incredibly well - so we never feel rushed and have a truly fun (and educational) visit. Super comfortable vehicle (with much needed A/C and cool water always handy). He is a master of knowing the best times to visit the best spots, and has superb photography skills...some of my favorite memories are from shots he suggested. He's grown to become an amazing naturalist - en route to the lovely waterfall in the river of a thousand lingam, Ratanak pointed out the neatest bugs, trees and plants to we city dwellers...I swear he was a tracker in a former life. Fortunately, Ratanak also knows the best places to shop - so at the end of the day we were introduced to some truly unique shops with the best quality (and best of all didn't have to overpay for souvenirs).

We have recommended Ratanak and his brother to many, many friends globally and they have nothing but praise for Angkor Guides. We are thrilled to be able to reunite recently and share this recommendation with you. It won't be another five years before we go back either - in part because Ratanak is such a great guy and continues to share the best of the best of Cambodia with us.
