historical and modern pagodas side by side

I've been to Wat Athvea a couple of times with a friend for water blessings by the monks there. They're easy going and we are able to go there in our own time. The ancient site of Wat Athvea rests quietly alongside the newer and active pagoda. It's a large site with many buildings and statues around and interesting to explore.

Angkor Empire Tour

If you are on holiday in Siem Reap Angkor Cambodia please do not forget to visit this amazed Hindu temple. It is located just on the way to Chong Khneas floating village. It is a small temple but very unique carving and quiet, you would take this tour including water blessing ceremony with a monk there. Highly recommended!

Magical temple dinner - by Mémoire - Angkor Wat

We had an suspicious seat and standing in the mysterious temple area of Wat Athvea where a small attractive temple located along the way to Tonle Sap Lake, the south of the city center on the site of an ancient temple built during the 12th century by King SuryavarmanII. The temple has its own unique design and faces to the west, like Angkor Wat, believed to be dedicated to the God Vishnu.
Every tourist got immersed themselves in the treasures of splendid temple and got along with a troupe of sacred dancers, showing many traditional dances in graceful gestures that is the most iconic of Khmer Classical Dances, and sovoured the richness of Cambodian gastronomy for a magical dining experience - in the kingdom of smile, Siem Reap Angkor Wat.

A temple away from the city

With a tuk tuk you can reach this very silence temple on the way to the lake. I when here for a monk blessing ceremony which was a memory of life time. But the temple itself was not so interesting but still good to visit.

Best temple to visit while in Siem Reap city

Worth a visit

This temple is definitely worth a visit. I am usually the only one there when I go, so it is a great opportunity to get away from the crowds of Angkor.
