My name is Son Chanthoeun and I am called Son. I am a local tour guide of English and Spanish. I graduated in the faculty of English literature in a local university in Cambodia. In 2013, I obtained a scholarship to study Spanish as a second language in Colombia, Universidad de Caldas. I have been a staff of a project carried out by University of Sydney in Siem Reap.

Son is a magnificent guide to visit the surroundings of Siem Reap. He showed us all of Angkor on a 3-day tour and we recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the area.
You won't regret it, Son is a 10/10 professional.
He took us by car with a driver for the 3 days, and he explained everything wonderfully to us, showed us magical corners and transmitted the history of his country.
He gives tours in Spanish and English.

Today I did a 1 day tour of the temples in Siem Reap with Son. Son’s knowledge of the temples is extensive and there was no question that he couldn’t answer. I was so amazed each time he explained the story behind the many wall carvings. He can tell you where to get the best shots, and also showed me some features on my iPhone to get good pics. If you are ever in this beautiful part of the world, I would highly recommend getting Son to show you around the temples. He is an excellent guide, and also just a really lovely young man. And he also speaks fluent Spanish!

We spent 6days In Siem Reap, it was a pleasant trip discovering the magic of Cambodia, one temple at a time. Son our guide, made sure we had comfortable trip by arranging a large seater, clean and good air conditioning van. He was very informative and made sure we covered all the important landmarks, and while making my 6year old is kept entertained. It was truly a wonderful trip and will definitely recommended Son anytime!

Son was a great guide, we are very happy with his service. We spent three days with him and we were surprised with the level of Spanish he has, his knowledge about history and mythology is really interesting and being a local he helps you and shows you how to really see Siem Riep from up close. Information, knowledge, help, local food and kindness. We would repeat without a doubt.

Thoeun is the best guide in Angkor. We stayed in Siem Reap for about four days, but wish we had stayed much longer. Thoeun is terrific, he can answer any and all your questions about Angkor Wat's history and anything you want to know about the temples there. He has become a great friend also. He listens and caters your trip just the way you want it. His drivers are safe and professional as well. He has over 10 years of experience.
Thoeun has worked with the Greater Angkor Project, which is an Austriaian-French-Cambodian archaeological team that has been investigating the fall of Angkor for many years. Thoeun has worked with this group for many years, and the knowledge he has obtained from working with them is priceless. It makes him the best guide as he has very knowledgeable about all aspects of the temples and history. His hands on experience means he can take you to places that other guides do not know of or know anything about if you so desire. A lot of Thoeun's knowledge is not any guide book, which makes him the guide you should hire.
Thoeun has his own pre-made schedule if you prefer for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, and beyond. If you prefer to arrange your own schedule, you can let him know in advance and he will accommodate your needs to the best of his abilities. The best thing to do is to write him in advance and tell him what you want and when you will be there. You also should book him in advance because good guides are hard to find in Angkor. We were very lucky to have gotten him. When he is giving you a tour of the temples, if you feel he is spending too much time talking, you can also just mention it to him, he will listen and shorten the history the best he can, but honestly a lot of the history is very fascinating and you should not be rushed to visit the temples.
If you are wondering if you need a guide for Angkor or not, I say yes, you need a guide, pay the extra money and hire a knowledgeable guide, like Thoeun, because it will truly enhance your experience while there. While walking around the temples we overheard other guides in Angkor telling visitors things that just did not make sense to us, we then asked Thoeun about the things we heard and he helped us to understand in more depth and detail about what we had heard and to correct what the other guides were staying. Thoeun really is a wonderful guide and will always do his best to answer your questions.
Thoeun's English is impeccable; you will not have any difficulties understanding him.

I've found some good reviews on Tripadvisor and booked a 2 day tour with Son.
We were not guided by Son himself, but by one of his colleagues, Ho ! Ho was a great guide, with a lot of knowledge about the temple complex, great humor and very good language skills (English, German and Spanish). Ho also knew the best spots for taking pictures and even learned us all camera features on the iPhone !

Encantada con Son, fue un placer contar con el como guía ;) no solo fascinándonos con la historia de los templos si no también introduciendonos a la cultura camboyana.
Nos sentimos muy seguros y agusto, no paro de darnos consejos en todo el viaje incluso cuando no tenia nada que ver con lo contratado. Siempre atento y muy puntual nos esperaba con el coche a cada salida y siempre flexible si queriamos modificar alguna visita.
Nos ayudó mucho con la fotografía y conocia los mejores lugares.

I toured with Thoeun the Temples of Angkor and surrounding area,he knows his home and his land very well.I told him what I wanted,what excactly I wanted to do and he served me well.I had the most fantastic experiance of Siem Reap,Angkor Wat,and the surrounding countryside of Cambodia.I reccomend his services.

i and my wife was in Siem Reap in february, and i contact Thoen by the website of internet. i had my program, 2 days in Archeological site of Angkor e one day in Phnom Kulen, the sacred mountain, and one day in Chong Kneas, the floating village. Thoen and your brother was very prompt us to spend in this four days in excellent way. We raccomended you for spend a beautifull days in Siem Reap

Hola, te recomiendo contactes al guía Son, que habla perfectamente el español y muy profesional en lo suyo. Te podrá aconsejar las mejores excursiones para los dos días.
