My name is Yous Sopanha, I have been working as a tour guide for over 20 years in Angkor Archaeological site as well as other tourism sites around Cambodia. I hold 2 Bachelor Degrees from Phnom Penh University in Social Science (history, philosophy...).

We spent 4 days on a private tour with Sopanha visiting ancient temples, jungle elephants and amazing waterfalls. Sopanha was highly knowledgeable and there was not a question he couldn’t answer. He was efficient and on time every day and offered many personal stories of his life which made it a truly unique experience. We would highly recommend his services to anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the culture of Siam Reap and Cambodia.

Book a tour with Sopnha!
The experience with Yous Sopanha was great. A lot of exciting stories and historical background Information. Amazing stories, breathtaking views and explored the best sites in and around Siem Reap in 2 days (would recommend a 3rd day). We were at Kulen Mountain-temple and waterfalk, Angkor temples incl. Angkor Wat, Bayron, etc. Was also great for the kids (9 and 11) although they did not understand every word (German speaking), however this was because of their English level, not Sopanhas. Sopanha is a great story teller and takes you wirh him through times. Highly recommended to tour Siem Reap with him.

Do you want an expert guide? Then contact Sopanha. He is such a great guide and a trainer of other guides. He has many years of experience and a university history background. I used him for a day but then ended up spending two more days with him. He knows the history of the Angkor region thoroughly and makes the whole tour come alive with his great storytelling! My wife and I had such an amazing three days with Sopanha. My recommendation is to look no further.

Sopanha was our cycle guide for a day around Ankor and the temples. Even the very early morning start (in the dark) was worth it with the roads being so quiet and seeing the sun rise over the temples! He quickly worked out our fitness and abilities and interests and adapted the tour as we went to suit our group of 4 cyclists from NZ including some impromptu side trips. Very happy to recommend him. And his command of English is very good.

Sophana and his team Vuth and Nak gave us excellent tour services when we visited in Nov this year. We returned with great stories and slideshows for our family and friends who are all eager to know about our Cambodia adventures. Vuth and Nak have given us a trip we will never forget. Vuth and Nak were excellent companions throughout our tour. They were knowledgeable, polite and patient. They always made sure we were comfortable and made us feel very safe. I have to say that while the Angkor Wat was a magnificent experience the highlight of this trip was hands down the warm and kind hospitality shown by Sopanha and his entire family. Sopanha is very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about Cambodian history and culture from him. We are definitely recommending your services to all our friends . We wish you and your family great success in all future endeavors. And the best of health and happiness too!

My mom and I wanted a guide who could really explain us the history of Angkor, to explain us everything about every temple or area we were visiting while touring the gigantic site of Angkor, and Sopanha really knew everything. He could answer all of my questions, he knew what was reconstruction and what was originally standing for 1000 years, he explained the details in the stonework, the statues we were looking at and more. He knows the history of Angkor but also of Cambodia and much more, and that's what anyone is looking for in a historical guide. He also loves history, and teaching others about history.
I simply found him with a Google Maps search of historical tour guides and I just read the reviews there and then here. It was really great to be able to go through him directly to be my guide. Just send him a WhatsApp even if it's last minute, all the info is on his website and he'll be more than happy to be your guide. I literally texted him the day before we wanted to go visit Angkor and he was available! We had a air conditioned car and cold water throughout our day with him.
My mom and I also left with countless perfect photos in front of the different temples, all of which are nice enough to be framed.
Anyways, thank you again for making Angkor such a great day and which will keep being an amazing memory of Cambodia.
I think he's one of the best guides (if not the best, actually he's the one who taught a lot of the other guides you'll bump into around the site) so there shouldn't be any hesitation before booking him if you know you're going to Angkor and you're looking for a guide to teach you the history of what you're looking at.

Sopanha and his team were what made my visit to Siem Reap unforgettable. From the early days of our planning, Sopanha was prompt and helpful in all our communication and helped shape our itinerary. When we arrived, Vuth, our guide, and Nak, our driver, were the perfect pair on the ground. They were informative and caring and very attentive to our needs. Vuth is an excellent photographer as well. Through them I’ve learned so much about the history, culture and the people of Cambodia. Sopanha and his team’s personal touches of hospitality and warmth made this a truly memorable visit. As ladies travelling on our own, we felt completely safe in their hands.

Fabulous day made possible thanks to our excellent guide Sopanha. We were picked up from our hotel at 5am, experienced the dawn breaking behind Angkor Wat before heading up to Kbal Spean where we walked up to the source of the ‘Holy’ water that supplied the Angkor civilisation. We then returned via the exquisite carvings at Banteay Srei, the tomb raider temple Ta Prohm and finally the ‘cartoon’ history wall at Bayon. His organisation, including a driver to make one way walks through the temples possible allowed us to fit a lot in! Sopanha’s background as a graduate historian as well as someone who had experienced first hand the horror of the ‘killing fields’ added a whole extra dimension to our tour. His understandable passion for everything Angkor was perfect for a day. We thank him.

Travelled to Cambodia with friends and spent two days touring with Sopahna as our guide. He is fantastic! He picked us up from airport, made very good itinerary suggestions, set us up with early morning tuk tuk driver to see sunrise over Angkor Wat, and was an endless source of knowledge about the area. Being a former professor, he is passionate and knowledgeable about his country, the local culture, and the beautiful temples. Our trip would not have been as rich without his expert guidance! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time in Cambodia, thanks to Sopanha.
He is very knowledgeable about Cambodian history, and about each of the temples/monuments, and above all very punctual and "jovial".
We spent 5 days in Cambodia, and Sopanha put together a fantastic itinerary, including Koh Ker and Sambor Prei kuk.
I highly recommend Sopanha's services to anyone seeking an exceptional guided tour of Siem Reap

We are traveling to Siem Reap March 25-29 and are looking for a guide. It will be me (female, American, 50 and active), my husband and our two sons aged 21 and 16. We love adventure, would like to use bicycles and tuk tuk abc see a sunrise or sunset. We are staying at the Golden Temple.
