Luke was our tour guide for our day tour of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples and he was excellent - spoke English well and was very knowledgeable about the temples as well as good photo locations. Whether you just like to take nice photos for memories (which was our case) or take “professional” photos, Peace of Angkor offers both options. Luke took us to the popular temples as well as some neat ones off the beaten path but was also flexible and accommodating to our needs and interests. He was quick to point out good photo spots that could’ve been easily missed. The car ride between sites was comfortable and they offered cold water and lemongrass towels for refreshment. We would book with this group again and recommend it.

My family and my friend were initially skeptical about the tour booked through the agency. We were actually recommended to it by a friend. We decided to go with them. We were pleasantly surprised by the arrangements made for us right from the time we landed at Siem Reap airport. Fantastic guide, good hotels and a lovely itinerary arranged....and the best part .. Abide by it... they are flexible...any changes in the itinerary (within their limits) was done happily as per our wish...no hidden fees or charges... very transparent transactions.... I would 100% recommend any one planning to go to Cambodia to get in touch with them....they have itinerary for all types of trips and can be customized....

My partner and I had a great time exploring Siem Reap and Angkor Wat with Elliot.

Communication was seamless between Den and I. I felt that I was fully apprised of the details of our trip before we even went. It was the first time I had ever done a photography tour. Both my partner and I are also novice photographers trying to get a grasp on composition and utilizing all of the features on our DSLR. We rented a camera from Peace but had few issues with it and were refunded the money for the rental.

We were ahead of all of the crowds and Elliot had us going over, under, and all around to get great shots. It was very much appreciated to get insight about how to frame shots and then change settings on the camera to get sharpness and brightness down.

We walked away with thousands of photos and great memories. Elliot was hilarious and a free spirit. I felt like we really got the value out of the trip. I don't know how many people have the shots we do without people in them at these sites! If we return, I'd love to get out of the Angkor area and explore more of Cambodia with Peace.

I was not satisfied with my tour or the customer service of Peace of Angkor.
Even though it is called a "photo discovery tour" my tour had nothing to do with photography. The whole reason I booked this tour was because I wanted a tour that wasn't a basic Angkor tour. I was led to believe that my guide would be able to give me some photography advice. But, it was just a regular Angkor tour. The tour guide knew nothing about photography.
When I complained to the company after the tour, they shrugged me off.
I can't recommend this company or its tours. You can do better somewhere else.

We are very sorry about the clients disappointment with the tour. We were put in a difficult position at this busy time, after one of our key photo guides was called away to Phnom Penh as his father was taken seriously ill. To run this tour we had to find a substitute guide at one days notice. The guide has worked for us before on lake and temple tours occasionally, with good feedback. With hindsight we should have canceled the tour; but we felt that would have caused even more disappointment as it is very difficult to find tour guides at this time of year due to high demand. If I had been available I would have stepped in; but I was already committed to other tours at this time.

I cannot say enough great things about my experience with Peace of Angkor Day Tours. I traveled for just under 3 months and this was by far one of the most memorable things I did, all thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff at this tour company. My friend and I decided to take the 5 day tour, and it was an absolute pleasure, a perfect balance between seeing the amazing temples at Angkor Wat (Angkor Wat, Bayon, Angkor Thom, Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm, etc) and the surrounding areas of Siem Reap (Tonle Sap Lake and floating villages, the markets, the silk farm, etc).

Dave Perkes (owner) helped to secure our accommodations throughout the tour which was quite nice. He’s passionate and excited about the tours that they offer, and incredibly helpful with suggestions and recommendations around town. He’s got a great staff working for him, and they made every effort to make our trip exactly what we wanted – adventurous, educational (both historically and photography-wise), and they helped us to really get a wonderful sense of the Khmer people and culture. Elliot (photography guide) was patient with us and saw no problem that we had just point and shoot cameras; he actively guided and instructed, and gave us great insight to unseen vantage points on all the places we visited. Ta was our Khmer guide, and his wisdom and knowledge of history and culture is astonishing. These two guys together on tour are an absolute riot. Thanks also to Den (office manager) for all his assistance and communication. They all really go above and beyond because they care, and you can tell that they love what they do.

The photos and memories I took away from this trip are such treasures. I feel like I got to see the real Cambodia (way beyond just a tourist), all because of Peace of Angkor. I would recommend them to everyone coming through Siem Reap, photographers and tourists alike. Thanks for everything, guys!

Even if you don't have an interest in photography but just want to take away some really special snapshots from your holiday, then Peace of Angkor tours are well worth it!
Sorn, our guide was amazing. His English is excellent and he is so friendly and knowledgeable.
We had the opportunity to really get a glimpse of Cambodian village life and experience a few things out of the ordinary!
Eating sticky rice on the side of the road while learning how it is made, lunch in a locals home in the middle of a market near Tonle Sap, and so much more.
Booking through Peace of Angkor is really easy, Den and the guys are really helpful and get back to you really quickly with answers to any questions etc...
I came away with some fantastic photos, and I will book with Peace of Angkor again next time I am back.
Not all tours are running all the time though, but if there are not enough people to do a group tour you can arrange with Den to do the tour privately at an increased price.

The highlight for me was definitely our guide. I can't praise Sorn highly enough! He really made the tours so much fun, and I got so much out of each one from his knowledge, and fantastic eye when it comes to the perfect spots to get that great shot!

I highly recommend Peace of Angkor, and Sorn and would be happy to answer any further queries anyone might have!

I'm a photographer.
As a photographer we are fussy over certain location because lighting did concern for each great photography.
To get great porfolio, we need experience/professional tour to do that !

Be frank, I know quite a lot tour agency that can arrange Angkor Wat holiday...but to have a PROFESSIONAL tour , I would like to advise you all :

' PEACE OF ANGKOR ' Day Tours is the right choice ! ! !

Thanks to Peace of Angkor Day Tours, our family enjoy it very much !

Spent 4 days in Siem Reap with my husband, and since we're both photo enthusiasts, this seemed like the perfect tour to book. And we were not disappointed! I do recommend visiting the Angkor Museum before the tour on your own to get a feel of the rich history - then the tour experience becomes much more immersive.

We had Ta with us for two days. He was on time, always ready to share information and also had some pretty good discussions with us on the history behind all the places we visited. So in terms of knowledge, he has incredible amounts of it!

We chose a tuk-tuk for Day 1 since it was mostly within the main temple complex and a car for Day 2. Ta even took us on one off the road temple, lesser known and rarely visited. He really does know the grounds well enough to show us the regular photo ops, and the best kept secrets, angles and areas. I really enjoyed shooting under his guidance on where to get the best creative shots.

The website clearly states that they don't give photography instructions, but are happy to help and suggest some technical input if you need it. Ta did exactly that with us, so it was a great learning experience as well. He even helped take our portraits, despite us saying we're totally not one of those tourists that like posing at the places we visit.

What I also loved is that Ta could understand our need to ensure whatever we did would never disrespect the local cultural beliefs, and were both animal and environmentally friendly.

There was only one aspect of the tour that I was uncomfortable with and that was a visit to a charcoal village. I was initially under the impression that this was a formalised initiative but realised later that it was simply an impromptu visit. While I do understand that Ta may have some rapport and relationship with the villagers, I did find myself thinking if I would have felt okay with random strangers walking into my home to take photos of my family at work. A similar feeling cropped up when Ta casually asked if we'd like to see a local wedding, but it basically meant just walking in unannounced. Again, not sure how I would have felt if tourists randomly showed up at my wedding, simply because they want to experience a flavour of local culture.

On a whole, it was a wonderful experience and I would like to also thank our drivers on both days for this memorable Angkor trip. Definitely one of the best.

We rented Motor Scooters to go to the floating village and Bang Mealea temples. This was a custom tour and Ta was a great sport to let us ride our scooters. The floating village was an unforgettable experience. Bang Mealea was better than expected as we had the place to ourselves. Ta provided great infomation and a real local connection. So glad we did this tour with him.

Had a magnificent day touring and learned so much. Ta was very knowledgable about the sites and also knew the best places to snap incredible photos. Even learned about some if there're features of my iPhone camera. The company was also very accommodating to build a schedule that worked for us since we had to leave for the airport that afternoon. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
