For a small fee you get a lot of information from a very knowledgable guide. Butterflies are pointed out and named and the whole life cycle explained. A very hands on hard working dedicated team working hard to allow visitors and up close encounter with nature at it's best.

Beautiful Garden

The Butterfly Center is a beautiful place. In the entrance fee is a guide included. He will show you what they are doing there and explain all stadiums of developing of a butterfly. Very interesting! After that you get all the time you need by your self to get around and make picture of the beautiful butterflies. If you like there is a little bar inside where you can recover.

We saw the Centre’s sign on the way to a temple visit, and stopped by on our way back. Loved seeing the native butterflies, learning about their conservation work and photographing butterflies. Well done program.

The guide, Vichet, was professional, knowledgable, had fantastic English and was obviously very passionate about butterflies and conservation in general. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit - this is a must-see on your visit to Siem Reap. Adults and children alike will love it!

The visit was interesting and provided an insight to the missions of the BBC.
I agree with other reviews allow 50mins for this visit.
The 20min tour was informative.

This is Soyinka have not seen before in Cambodia so it was a welcome break from temples, restaurants and other standard tourist sites.

The centre is small but packed with a beautiful assortment of butterflies unique to Cambodia.

There was a free guide offered for the tour which went for about 20 minutes. After the tour were allowed to walk through at our own pace.

I would recommend allowing up to 40 minutes max here.

It’s a bit out of the way of the city, so perhaps combine this with a visit to the nearby silk weaving factory and the lakeside area (but not on a weekend as it’s too busy with locals).

Prices: adults $4 children under 12 $2

Coming back from Banteay Srey temple, stopped by at this Butterfly Center. Man made yet very natural environment, with flowers and more importantly those colorful butterflies. Very excited to see how they hatch and hybrid butterflies from a to z.

I trust the fee I spent is purely for local there. Worth a visit and wonderful experience!!

Go early in morning to see butterflies.

Go early in morning to see butterflies.

We read this place was open till 5:00. We arrived at 4:30 and they were closing. The guy at the front spoke excellent English and said that the butterflies were all asleep anyway. He said you need to come between 8 am to 10 am to see the most butterflies and also the life cycle presentation (whatever that means). I think he said the early afternoon wasn't bad either.

So now you know. Go early.

We did see a BEAUTIFUL monarch looking butterfly out in the front yard

Beautiful butterflies

My daughter absolutely loved this butterfly center! The guide was very kind and showed us the life cycle of the butterfly. She showed us the eggs, caterpillars, chrysalis, and the butterflies fresh out of their chrysalis. These butterfies she let us carefully hold (don't touch their wings, so as not to damage them). The only improvement would be if the guide skipped the "lifecycle" explanation. It was hard to understand the detailed description with her limited English, but we already know the information since my daughter learned all about butterflies in kindergarten.
