Perfect Stop While Temple Hopping
Feb 2020 • Family
After seeing a ton of Temples this beautiful little sanctuary was an ideal stop. Such a great garden and friendly staff. I’m so glad we did not miss this gem.

Not worthwhile going

So disappointing, I saw three large butterflies and some small ones, not a large variety. I would not recommend spending your time or money here

Dear Helene, I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoyed your visit at our butterfly exhibit. We are displaying species native for Cambodia and during the dry season the diversity is normally less than during raining season, although at the moment we still have 11 different species flying in our enclosure including the Golden Birdwing among them, which is the largest day flying butterfly species in Cambodia. At BBC we are always advising our visitors to use our free guides to show them around the butterfly aviary in order to discover all species and learn more about the world of butterflies. We hope you'll visit us again during a possible next stay in Siem Reap and allow us to exceed your expectations. With all the best, the BBC team

Great stop off near the temples
Feb 2020 • Couples
A lovely butterfly conservation centre situated not far from the Angkor Wat temples. The staff were friendly and gave us a wonderful and informative tour of the pretty garden, showing us the different life stages of the butterfly. We stayed for around 30 minutes and saw several species of butterfly. The $6 entrance fee for adults seems reasonable as it's paying for the conservation efforts.

Unmissable!
Feb 2020 • Friends
So cheap for the experience, was amazing and so wholesome! We got to hold newly born butterflies and put them on flowers which was incredible. The enclosure is large, full of various flowers and fruit for the butterflies to eat. As animal rights enthusiasts, we would highly recommend. You get a free tour too 1-1, the lady we had was so nice, friendly and knowledgable. Despite the lack of exposure on things to do in siem reap, it was extremely worthwhile and would 100% recommend to anyone who likes nature and animals! Tip - wear brightly coloured clothing as they are more likely to land on you then.

Thank you for your visit and you great review, we appreciate it very much. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit and the tour giving by one of our staff members. Thank you for sharing the Tip to other visitors since it's totally true that butterflies love bright colours like red, yellow and orange. With all the best, The BBC butterfly team

Visit to the BBC

Included is a little tour to show the life cycle of the butterflies at the centre . It about 40 minutes from town and it’s worth getting there at 9am as the place opens .That way it’s not too hot and you have the place to yourself . Excellent variety of butterflies to photograph and worth the trip out though it’s not that cheap . Enjoy

Small but pretty and interesting

Lovely gardens, interesting guide and I was able to get some stunning photos of the butterflies. We combined a visit here with the landline museum. Both worthy causes.

Small but beautiful and fascinating
Jan 2020
This small butterfly centre is a lovely place to stop off en-route to other sights near Siem Reap - the staff are very helpful and keen to show you around, we watched a butterfly emerge from a cocoon (magical!) and were delighted by how easy it was to see and photograph some beautiful butterflies and moths and some other insects.
Its a small place but the cost reflects that, and its helping the local community.
Please don't try and compare it to large, commercial zoos or butterfly farms, just keep in mind the country you are in and what they are trying to achieve at this small locally run initiative.

Interesting and quite peaceful to just walk around and admire the butterflies
Dec 2019
For USD $6 This Butterfly center is really quite a catch, although a little out of town you can actually do this, landmine museum and Banteay Srey Temple thus making this journey quite bearable. They do have guides whom will explain to you the different butterflies and their lifecycles with some luck you can even get to enter the breeding area and see each stages up close.

The place IF you choose to walk without guide can be "boring" and maybe completed in 10mins. But do stay and actually take your time to look around. Also the money you pay for the admission is used for conservation efforts for butterflies. :)

Really enjoyed the time spent in the Banteay Srey Butterfly Center. The butterflies are so beautiful and the staff are taking care of them so well. Highly recommend anyone who going to Siem reap spare sometimes to visit this center. Very great place to go other than Angkor Wat.
