I was looking for a silk scarf to go with the little black dress i got made in Hoi An. The night markets were cheap but did not yield anything that was worth buying. I was so happy that I found a beautiful vivid red piece here, while supporting a worthy cause. Not cheap by local standards ($45) but worth it.

The small shop of Soiries du Mekong is a little bit hidden in a small charming street and that makes it even more attractive to visit. The creations of scarves are really nice and the social action behind it makes you want to support greats talents and great people.
My mother and my sister are just loving the scarves I bought them there!
A must visit!

I found quality silk scarves that I would want to wear and give to love ones. They are of course not cheap but There were so many lovely colours and designs that I had a hard time just choosing a few. Unique Cambodian designs and colours which are different from those on the streets. This is a gem and well worth a visit. I
Glad o made a trip to this little shop during my last few hours at Siem Reap before leaving the country.

We came to Kandal Village and unexpectedly found this lovely shop. The scarfs are beautifully made and they are not cheap. Bearing in mind that part of the sale money goes to train and equip local Cambodian women to weave and earn a living, it is a good way to spend my money to support them. The scarfs are beautifully woven and there are quite a lot to choose from. The saleslady was very helpful and friendly. It was such a joy to watch and appreciate the many handmade scarfs. Do come and look at them, please buy if something jumps up to catch your eyes.

I visited there store in Siem Reap. A person who seems to run their operation Banteay Chhmar happened to be there, and explained how the unit works. The silk samples in the store were of excellent quality, but were also rather expensive ( around $100 average for a silk scarf).

This is a beautiful shop with excellent staff. I asked if it was possible for them to make a couple of accessories for me and they were happy to do so. Great flexibility and communication. Would recommend!

If you go to that shop, you will discover the Cambodian handmade world of silk. Ask the manager of the shop, she will tell you the story of each scarf.
