    a hidden gem
This hidden gem is a must for anyone interested in textiles and regional dress. There is an extensive collection of items on display and you have your own guide for the visit. She was informative, and the displays were well presented in English. As it is just across from the Angkor Ticket Office, it really needs bigger signage in order to gain attention. Even tuk tuk drivers don't know it.

Beautiful textiles and technique exhibits. Inexpensive museum, great indoor activity!
A great respite from the afternoon heat. Very friendly and informative staff. Beautiful displays of various textile methods from the Mekong & Ganges River regions. Weaving, embroidery and brocade fabrics are displayed. Beautiful art and costumes worn by regional ethnic groups and a few contemporary styles too. Beautiful exhibits!

Small and quick, gorgeous clothing and textiles! Fun gifts too.
We made a quick stop to visit this beautiful little museum. Gorgeous traditional clothing and textiles! A staff member guides you. Normally I don't like guided tours, but he explained just enough and demonstrated some fun things. I got to try block printing, that was fun. And they have a tiny gift shop with many, many little bracelets that staff members made. I bought a whole bunch and gave them as gifts (and kept some for me)---everybody LOVED the bracelets! And there were maybe $1 each!

What an interesting museum. Although some distance from the centre of Siem Reap it is well worth a visit . ( $4 for a tuk tuk ) All staff were so friendly, helpful and professional. The gentleman who took us around the exhibits was very knowledgeable and explained clearly about the design and manufacture of the textiles on display., The security man at the gate was helpful in calling us a tuk tuk for our return journey. And the textile bracelets for sale were reasonably priced. The display itself is well laid out and documented in English. The fabrics from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and India were intricate in design and showed the differences in design from each region.

    Not to be missed
A very nice museum, with guides who accompany us, which is very appreciable. I highly recommend if you are visiting Siem Reap and want to know more about the history of fabric across South Asia. Also, the shop allows to buy bracelets woven by the guides, they are beautiful!

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, from the security guard to the front of house staff to the tour guide.

The team are obviously very passionate about their work, and they have a lot of knowledge about textiles.

There is lots of empty space in the building, but I feel this museum will expand over time.

I enjoyed learning about the differences in techniques for making silk between the countries, and how to tell the difference between national costumes.

Entry fee is USD$3 which is reasonable.

Amazing! - One of the best museums iv been to all trip! I think it’s a must while in Siem reap. It’s so interesting learning about the textiles and how they are made but most importantly the culture that they represent. Is outside of the town centre but 100% worth the tuk tuk. The owner and the woman who showed us around were so kind and informative, they really made the experience special.

This museum is a bit out of the way. However, I appreciated the detail and time in the galleries. I was guided by some staff through the exhibits, which was a nice touch. I liked that they pointed out both the similarities and differences of the countries which make up the collection at this museum.
If you appreciate textiles, this is definitely worth your time.

If you like private free guides, beautiful textiles, cultural dress from a dozen or so ethnic groups within the Ganges and Mekong triangle you will love this gem.
If it worth the $3 and the time to stop and visit.
I had seen silk being processed but did not know about the other types of silk beyond that from the mulberry moth. Now it helps my understanding when buying silk.
Using this museum to Relax with a respite from the afternoon heat was a good choice.

Two textile afficionados visited this little-known museum after passing it late one day returning from Banteay Srei. We saved it as the last stop on a day organized around textiles, and were initially disappointed when we arrived because it appeared to be closed. But someone appeared from the office and welcomed us in, even though they were going to close shortly. The museum is small but well organized. It contains traditional and contemporary textiles from the MGC (Mekong Ganges Consortium) countries. It is definitely worth visiting and I hope more people will put this place on their "must see" list.

Fascinating visit to learn about history and intricate processes involved in different textile fabrication. Omra was an amazing guide and we learned so much... so worth it... but make sure you have at least 2 hours to take it all in.
