This temple is OK but I wouldn’t make any special effort to visit. Probably worth about 15mins of your time if you are driving past. Of the two temples opposite each other, Thommanom is probably a bit more interesting than its counterpart, Chau Say Tevoda.

You will find this temple as you cross over the moat surrounding Angkor Thom. Together with Chau say Tevoda, they are a world heritage site. Both these temples are small and easily missed, so just tell your driver that you want to visit. It will not take long to visit these 900 year old temples. Impressive structures.

We were one of the very few people that has managed to experience Thommanon Temple at night. This was organised by our tour person in conjunction with Destination Asia. Our last night in Siem Reap and Cambodia was an unforgettable and amazing experience. We were driven by Tuk Tuk's from our hotel to Thommanon and got to see an amazing light show. After that we were seated and enjoyed delicious food which was prepared by The Sheraton Hotel while enjoying the spectacular view. This was the most memorable and unforgettable experience of the whole trip.

This is one of the temples that will definitely make our FOMO a reality.
It is not visited by many as it small and is located near the Temples visited during the 1st day tour.
After Baphuon, the Terrace of Elephants, before Ta Keo and Ta Prohm.

As it is on the side of the road, it is very easy to ask your tuktuk driver to stop by and let you visit for about 15 or 30 minutes.

It is what may be qualified as a hidden Gem.
The quality and preservation of the buildings, the sculptures and bas-relief are definitively and positively well worth of you time, even during the 1st day which is packed with amazing Temples.
And to improve even more the picture, as it is relatively deserted, no hustle bustle, no pushing from tens of other tourists, just you, the silence, the serenity of this Temple and a rare experience not to be missed.

When you go through the victory gate, you drive past 2 smaller temples. One of those is thommamon temple. It is very relaxed since almost no one stops here and the temple is very well preserved.

This temple is one of a pair. The other Chau Say Tevoda and this temple is in better condition.

It has some upper and lower pediments on both the West and East gates and the library that are worth taking some time to see.

The highlight is the central sanctuary which has two fabulous devatas, considered to be among the best in Angkor and inside is an absolutely beautiful lintel which can be difficult to find and see. Take some time to find it. There are also a couple of other lintels worth looking at but when you spot Vishnu standing on Garuda you have found it.

Small temple maybe, but very elegant and easily accessible on the way linking Angkor Thom’s Victory Gate and Ta Keo. It is Angkor Wat in style but almost empty of tourists. Competently renovated about 50 years ago, it is a good place to look at architectural details at leisure and a perfect place for pictures.

Located not far from the Victory Gate, but outside the wall, I am not sure why this temple had less people the day we were there - but it was great. Having less crowds and being able to get photos that looked more emotive without a bus load of people in them was great. Also not too big so easy to inspect and well worth walking around.

This is an awesome temple in Angkor. It is less crowded than some of the others, and therefore it is easier to get better pictures with fewer people in them.

It is a very small temple. But the sculpture on some of the building are well preserved. Okey to have a look.
