Spectators Wanted!
Aug 2021
I volunteer every year at the National Standardbred Horse Show, held at the NJ Horse Park in August. The show is spread over 3 days, and has classes to please any spectator, from Dressage to Driving and everything in between. Admission is free, and all the show rings are really easy to walk to from the parking lot. The show always has a good caterer for breakfasts, lunches, and snacks, too. The show is really nice, but there aren't many spectators other than friends and family of the exhibitors. If you want to see a really nice horse show, come out next year. You'll be glad you did.

Nice facility
Oct 2019 • Family
Nice established facility. There are flush toilets in the main office. No consistent food availability and not much else around so bring your own.

there for NJHAHA show
Jun 2018 • Family
Facility was very easy to find and on roads with very moderate traffic. Entering the first thing you notice is how clean it is. Many different rings, good bathrooms, set up very very well.

Great state fair, but bathroom facilities lacking
Jul 2017 • Family
Plenty of area to hold a state fair, easy to get to and plenty of parking on grass. However, it seems there was only one bathroom for men and women in main building, neither one of which had a changing table. I observed two moms letting their male child urinate into the grass rather than finding a bathroom or standing in line.

Kitschy state fair, fun for the whole family
Jul 2017 • Family
We went with friends for a day out. We had not been to a fair in many years in this place was a great place to go. Great place to people watch.

For starters, admission price was $15 which included unlimited rides and entertainment. Extremely reasonable and which would cost for a movie. For the future, we know that you can pick up tickets for $10 apiece at a Walgreens prior to the fair.

Now onto the fair, parking is free. The ticket booths were well organized and there was almost no line. Like most fairs, there is a runway with games and every type of fried food you can think of.

The fair had several bands play. On the day we went, Artimus Pyle from Lynyrd Skynyrd was playing with his band. There was a seal lion show which lasted approximately 20 minutes and pig racing that was very cute. In the entrance there was a lumberjack who was crafting different items using just a chainsaw.

There was also a petting zoo. there were several different animals at the petting zoo including a long horn and a zebra. We felt bad for the long horn as his pen was very small for him to maneuver his big horns.

We were not able to make it to the magician/hypnotist. Further, they had a pie eating contest.

In addition to all of these activities, they also had approximately 20 rides. All ages would be satisfied with the variety of rides they included in the entrance fee. In addition, the lines were very short for each ride with the weight of no more than 10 minutes.

We were there for approximately three hours and had a lot of fun including eating some Arepa and funnel cake. We will definitely be back next year.

Tip: as strange as it sounds, all the vendors selling do not have the same price for the same items. For example, water at one vendor was three dollars while it was two dollars at another vendor. Which is fine, but for the fact they're all wearing the same uniform so you are led to believe that they all are owned by the same vendor. They are not. When I inquired, I was told that they were all required to wear the fair operator's shirt but each stand is owned individually. In other words, you need to shop around for food prices.

Great Day in Allentown, NJ
Jul 2016 • Family
I took my family to the Freedom Fest State Fair in Allentown, NJ. Parking was free (Lawn).

For $15.00 pp we received a wrist band which covered unlimited rides and entertainment. No tickets per right. Awesome!!!!!!!
The fair was very nice. The staff was pleasant. The food and rides were great.

In the midst of all the racial unrest we have going on in the United Stated right now it was nice to be out in the company of so many races. People were talking to each other, laughing, and enjoying life. It was a great feeling. Thank you Freedom Fest we had a great time.

THIS IS PREDOMINANTLY A PLACE FOR HORSE SHOWS AND COMPETITIONS
It is NOT owned by the state of Nj...
It is transforms into a state fair........

The Horse Park of NJ, Horse Trials on June 28.
Jul 2015 • Friends
More rustic than I expected. Only one food vendor with a buffet style lunch of unusual choices. Portable toilets nasty when we arrived. Only one set of restrooms at the office. It was an interesting experience for our first trip there.
We were a family of three adults and one friend, one of the adults was competing in the equestrian event, Area II USEA Recognized Horse Trials. I have attached two photos and a link to a video taken of our equestrian from MD.

Great place for the kids.....
Jul 2014 • Family
We went on dollar day. That means everything was a dollar even the parking. The rides were all in order. The people running them were professional and stressed safety, making parents step back. The personnel was polite. The fair grounds were clean and the bathrooms were well maintained . There seemed to be all sorts of unique food venues and lots to do. I an d my teenagers loved it. the musical numbers were fantastic!
