Kaliakra was the site of the naval Battle of Cape Kaliakra on 11 August 1791. You can visit the site alone or with a guide. The view is breathtaking, there’s also a restaurant where you can take a break. Check online for their schedule and enjoy. There’s a fee when you enter to the parking lot and you must have cash for that and for souvenirs.

An amazing promontory with spectacular views, and the Roman/Mediaeval remains are very interesting. There is ample car parking, but the place can get a bit crowded due to visiting coach parties - 3 Lev per person entry and parking fee.
If you need to get out of the sun, there are quite a few shady places, and a restaurant/stalls where you can purchase cold drinks.
One thing to watch out for .. at the second gate there was a very rude and aggressive busker (an accordionist) who although is quite proficient, will only accept donations over 5 Lev or ideally by bank note, and gets quite verbal if he feels he has not been given enough (in fairness, his insults are quite impressive and he can insult you in Bulgarian, English, French and German .. and probably a few other languges too!)

Cape Kaliakra is the northernmost place in Bulgaria (sounds cool when you get here in the July heat). It’s about 60 km from Golden Sands, but since the excursion bus stops at several hotels, the drive took a little less than two hours. Very beautiful views, and for some reason the sea here is a completely different color than in Golden Sands. Azure is probably somewhat similar in color to Red in Egypt)) In addition to walking along the rocky shores, they suggest visiting the chapel of St. Nicholas, which is also carved into the rock. By the way, you can also submit health notes there. At least in 2015, when we were there, people wrote notes. We also visited the ruins of an ancient Roman settlement. It was also interesting. The excursion includes a visit to the botanical garden and Queen Mary's Palace. The botanical garden did not make a strong impression: we have seen something more interesting and richer)) The excursion takes almost the whole day, but leaves a pleasant impression for a long time. Those who like to show off their lives in photographs, I think, will like the excursion, because... many beautiful views.

Stunning views at the cape. Visited out of season and it was great as the weather was still pretty warm and yet it wasn’t crowded at all. Stunning views of the cliffs and the sea, wind farm can be seen in the distance. Worth a trip. There is as small museum and Roman ruins,as well as ruins or newer churches and buildings from the 14th century.

Very beautiful nature with rocks overlooking the sea. Apart from the natural views, there is also a medieval fortress which has been very restored and also a very small museum. There is also a restaurant with wonderful sea views. It is worth seeing.

We spent a sunny afternoon here and loved it!
It cost 3leva per person And was worth every penny.
There isnt that much to do and children would probably get bored but the views, wildlife, flora and fauna are amazing.
There is beautiful cliff top views all round, old graves and remains of buildings, we even saw dolphins swimming off the cape.
There is a small museum and a restaurant with lovely views further on near the end.

A must see!

Also just before Cape Kaliakra there is a small road on the left take this road and follow down to the right to find a lovelly beach Bolata Bay used by the locals

Cape Kaliakra is a place full of legends (like the one about the 40 girls that jumped into the water after they were chased by the ottomans), of history and of great views. The landscape is breathtaking and if you're lucky you can see seals, cormorants and even dolphins. To get there you should enter Kavarna and take the signs directions (you will cross through a very large field with wind turbines). The entrance is 3 Leva (aprox. 1.5 Euros) per person and is a parking where you can safely park your car. There are a museum inside and a restaurant. I also reccomend to go at the gulf (it's a bad road, but the place and the beach is absolutely amazing).

5 minutes drive from Kavarna, use the gps and set "Kaliakra Cape" any other setting will take you to hotel or restaurant in Varna or Golden Sands. The parking is free but you have to pay 3 euro per person to visit. It is a cliff with some ruins of an old military post but it has great views, interesting history, nice small museum and a beautiful restaurant where you can chill and have a meal, drink or ice cream and have the best sea view. Be aware that the road is a bit bumpy but ok to drive at legal 50km/h speed (don't speed, police is there quite often). Try to visit when when temperature is not high, we went on a hot day (33°Celsius) and got some sun burns ;)) use sun cream. Also, please mind your kids and don't go out of designated area, there are dangerous places and you get hurt easily. You can check the snail farm too if you are into this type of dish. Google the place, some great things happened there ;)

try to park in the parking place, not on the edge of the road; maybe you will be lucky to find a place, as close as possible to the historical area
a nice walking till the end of the road, when a selfie point is waiting; also, two sculptures combine art with history, telling stories about the sea and its fighters
all around, amazing views, to North or South, revealing the spectacular red ground
a small museum presents into a cave relevant historical info, starting with the Greek period
a restaurant offers a nice opportunity to spend time for a drink, or to eat, looking for the sea
and of course, small shops around, to buy something to remember the place
a really nice place

Gorgeous fortress on the Kaliakra cape. Breathtaking ensemble of nature and mediaeval architecture. There is a parking fee of 6 BGN, while entry is free. My opinion is that Kaliakra is a must do place.
