This is a fantastic experience delivered by an excellent company.
Kalahari understand the needs of their customers and go way beyond what could be expected to ensure their customers have the best possible trip. They are very easy and friendly to deal with, and want to help you get the most from the various options available.
All the guides are very knowledgeable and enthusiastically share their breadth and depth of knowledge across all forms of wildlife you will no doubt encounter.
Camping in Chobe national park should not be missed. (Yes, it's safe, as I know some may question)
The management team are clearly focused on delivering a quality experience at exceptional value. I can 100% recommend Kalahari Tours

Whilst we were visiting the Chobe area in Botswana after a lot of research on local operators i came across Kalahari Tours. After making enquiries to which their responses were quick, informative and unbiased we decided to make a variety of bookings with them for our time there.
We booked a 3 day 2 night Chobe camping trip, a day trip to Victoria Falls with a short notice change to wanting to add a helicopter trip and finally a full day on the Chobe river to finish out time there.
For each of the bookings the whole team were enthusiastically welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for the team, even deciding to throw in a curve ball of a last minute request for a helicopter trip. This request was met with a simple "leave it to us we will make it happen". Amazing
The team that looked after us on each of the tours were warm, friendly and welcoming. But above all they were knowledgeable and showed their love for the environment and animals in the area. Lance and the kitchen team on the camping trip were simply amazing and responded to requests from all people on tour. I do believe we managed to see everything in this 3 day trip (Lions, Leopards (multiple times) Elephants, Crocodiles, Jackals, Fish Eagles and the glorious Martial Eagle. (Thank you Lance). Memorable moment was via a trailcam we left after a Leopard had made a kill in the night just by camp, when Kalahari Tours say wild camping it truly is
George who we must thank for his patience with us on the river for the whole day as we pointed, asked and requested this and that. He, again, came up trumps with all sorts of birds and wildlife. I do believe we saw and photographed 5 different types of Kingfisher and had aclose encounter with a Hippo which made us chuckle.
I forget the names but the help provided in navigating customs and immigration on our day trip to Zimbabwe as well as the driver guide providing assistance on the Zimbabwe side was immense.
All in all these guys exceeded our expectations but above all delivered some truly memorable moments that after 2 South African safaris i thought we would never be able to beat. But they did. I would absolutely have no hesitation of saying for "Your best Chobe moments, choose Kalahari Tours".

On Dec 28-30 we went on a camping safari with our three grown-up kids. It started with a charming boat trip on Chobe river seeing lots of elephants and other animals. We then had a very good lunch at Kalahari tours before heading off for our adventure inside the Chobe park with our guide Chika. Our family of five went in our own car. I was amazed by the beautiful landscape driving along the Chobe river with the different Namibian landscape on the other side. We saw herds of animals and we learned a lot about animals due to our experienced and sympathetic guide. He had a lot of knowledge and knew how to trace them. We got to see many lions, one leopard and two wild dogs chasing. We did not see crocodiles in the river. We highly recommend camping inside of the park, listening to lions, leopards and elephants at night is the most exciting thing.

We were on two boat trips with Kalahari Tours guide Furimbi as our captain. After the first cruise, we were so excited with all nature we have seen and the animals that Furimbi found for us. We are biologists and we were interested not only in the largest ones like elephants but also in birds and even insects. After the first minutes, our guide realized that we are somewhat different than the standard tourists and not only paid our attention to different animals but also explained many interesting facts about their behavior. Furimbi was cool and already during the first boating, we decided to take another cruise - with him on the deck of course.
We are fully satisfied with Kalahari Tours service, we honestly recommend it and definitely with Furimbi, at least for those focused on animals and wanting to see more than the standard set of species common near the river.

Our Chobe visit with Kalahari Tours was absolutely amazing! Very nice, well informed and experienced guides, delicious food and comfortable accommodation. We would highly recommend to do the game drive in the afternoon, as you can see all the animals in the sunset! No words for that!!! Sleeping in the tents is a bit adventurous as there is no fence and the animals are passing close by. But we felt safe anyway! Waking up in the jungle with just the sounds of animals around us was absolutely astonishing! The boat trip is very relaxing and with a little bit of luck you see all the animals swimming in the river. Breathtaking experience!

Dear Margaret thanks for taking the time to write a super review on our services , much appreciated . Bush camping is wild , we had an incident in Savuti a week ago where two huge male lions killed a hyena in camp and that was a little scary but of course No harm to our guests other than a very loud encounter at one thirty in the morning ! As part of AMA Waterways Africa Adventure, we were booked onto this company for a land safari through parts of tje Chobe National Forest.
I cannot give enough stars for this tour. Ore guide was great, saw fresh lion tracks and this found a male lion under a bush.
The wildlife here is abundant and their knowledge was inspiring.

We booked a divided full day with half on river/half by car. Coming in from Zambia and picked up at the border by our brilliant guide for the day. Both parts of the tour was very good, with a lunchbreak with (very) good food when we changed from boat to car. Spotted a lot of animals, large herd of elephants among them. Our guide had perfect balance of information and quiet time just to enjoy the view. Everything started on time, in fact our guide urged us to get going so we would leave on time.
Know what safari you are getting on though, as the animals spotted will vary throughout season and hour of day. There are no guarantees, but read around or ask beforehand and your probability of taking the tour that gives you the highest chance of seing the animals you want increases:)

The Kalahari tour 2 day and one night camping experience is not to be missed. If you have the kaza visa and spend the night in Botswana then it will become invalid and you will have to buy another. We were never told this and it does not save you any money but now I have two huge visas in my passport that are identical so if you are doing this then get a one time entry into Zambia and then buy the kaza visa when you return. With that being said, this was well organized. We were picked up at our hotel in Zambia, taken to the border and dropped off in Botswana via a ferry. Provided coffee and put in a boat where we saw elephants and hippos, crocs etc. after a quick lunch we we started our safari and the guides were awesome and you felt alone in the wilderness. Camping over night was interesting and not for the faint of heart but such an adventure. I highly recommend Kalahari tours and their guides.

My wife and I have just returned from a fantastic trip to Kasane. Our most memorable experience whilst there was, no doubt, the game drive we took with Kalahari Tours.
Our guide's knowledge of the wildlife and bush was amazing, humors and incredibly interesting.
We saw a number of animals including over 100 elephants but the highlight of the trip was the sighting of a pride of 11 lions. WOW!!

I’ve gone on a five-day, four-night trip to Savuti the guide was very informative and you could tell he knew what he was doing I had a lovely trip. During the daytime, we saw an abundance of different animals, and we were even lucky enough to see an impala killed by a leopard on the Chobe riverfront. During our stay on the riverfront, we saw three brown hyenas, which one doesn’t often see It was amazing. As we moved south to Savuti the drive was long, yes, but that is what is to be expected. T food was wonderful a 10 out of 10 The backup team that came with us was incredible and as a vegetarian, they provided wonderful meals and they did a really good job as some places don’t offer as good of a meal in the bush, especially as a vegetarian. The tents and the campsite, when we arrived at each, were already fully made, and showers were available throughout the day until it got dark, which was very refreshing after a long hot day whilst, in Savuti, we saw a handful of lions, as well as jackals and a male leopard, pushed beautifully on a Raintree this experience was once in a lifetime, and I will never forget it thank you to management and your wonderful team! Would recommend.

We plan to do 2 days 1 night trip to Chobe from Livingstone, but we have only single visa to Zambia. Is it easy to sort out visa on the Botswana side? And please give us the price for a person. If we are a group of 2 or 3, is there any discount?

I don’t know if it’s possible to have a new visa at Kazungula border. I think yes but I’m not sure at 100%.
The best is to ask information at your tour operator with which you go to chobe.
If it’s possible you will pay a new visa With the plenty price and there is anywhere some reductions on visa price if you are several people!
So you will pay the same amount than for the first visa that you have.

Hello!
Yes they did pick us up from our Hostel (Jollyboys) but the tour was organized through the hostel front desk, so that may have been why it was so convenient.
The overnight tour was aprox 250$ USD, the day trip is probably around the 150$ USD range.

I'm a Canadian who will be going to Zimbabwe, then taking a 2 night camping trip into Chobe with Kalahari Tours, then returning to Zim. As a Canadian, I can only get a single entry visa on my arrival in Zim, which means I will need to get another single entry visa on my return from the Chobe camping trip. I wanted to know, during my transfer back, will I be able to purchase the single entry visa from the border post between Botswana and Zim? I would rather do this if possible as it's even more expensive to get the visas in advance instead of on the spot. Thank you!

Hi Jolie , there should be no reason they will not allow you to purchsase a doudle entry Visa on arrival , it is quite commonly done . There is also now a KAZA visa that allows free travel between Zimbabwe Zambia and Botswana .

My husband and I will fly into Johannesburg on June 23 and must leave on July 12. This is to celebrate my 70th birthday so we're not young. Or spry! But last year we did walk all around Machu Picchu. We don't like large groups or over-scheduled tours but we're not wealthy. If we come to Victoria Falls can you arrange a couple of days for us in Chobe? Camping or a lodge are okay. Your reviews on Trip Advisor are great.
