I have done many safaris, but most of my favorite animal photos come from my evening sunset cruise on the Chobe with Pangolin. You can capture so much more with their wonderful cameras than you can with an iPhone. Really a great safari!
We stayer two days in the lodge. Barbara and Thomas together with their team made our stay unforgettable. Great rooms in the middle of real nature. Food was great too. The game drives have been also been awesome and we highly appreciated the additional explanations...More
The actual lodge was absolutely beautiful, the rooms were extremely comfortable with air conditioning and the nicest beds I have ever had in a hotel. The food is fantastic and well timed (small breakfast before morning drives/boat rides and brunch after). The staff also kept...More

Beautiful safari amazing wildlife photo opportunities. Get so close to animals and birds on the photo boats. You learn how to get brilliant shots in a relaxed fun way. Stayed at the Pangolin Chobe Hotel and Pangolin Houseboat. Awesome!!!
We knew we were going on a boat cruise on the Chobe, but didn't realize we'd be on a true photo safari. Dan and Hossein were excellent guides/captain. The photo equipment was very easy to use. The only problem was we had so many great...More

We had an enjoyable one night stay at Pangolin Khwai camp. Our guide Wilson was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. The wildlife sightings were amazing- leopard, lions and wild dogs each day. A highlight was seeing a wild dog hunt impala not far from Camp!
Excellent from top to bottom. A great lodge, great staff, good food and all that accompanies a brilliant place. If you are a photographer you will not want to miss it. It is located in Kasane, right at the edge of the Chobe National Park....More

October is fantastic for game viewing but also very warm. Its the month before the rains arrive and there are large numbers of larger mammals staying close to the river. Its a lovely time of year for big elephant herds. Luckily all the rooms at the Pangolin Chobe Hotel are air conditioned so you can escape the heat whenever you want!
We leave soon for a 3 week photo safari that stretches from Victoria Falls, Kasane, Chobe NP, Okovanga, Moremi preserve, and finally Maun. I am planning on bringing one suitcase of gifts for some of the remote villages we will visit. Our guide, Pangolin Photo Safaris, has suggested mosquito nets. In doing research, I find that LLIN nets (long-lasting insecticidal nets) are much more effective in protecting families from malaria. I have contacted several companies and organizations but...More

Thanks for the info. I had read that New York Times article and I think the reporter who wrote it should have to go live in a swampy malaria area for a year with no mosquito protection. How many lives do you think those LLIN nets save? It is documented in the ten of thousands if not millions. And even if they do use them for fishing the chances of harm are slim. They have been tested such that even if a baby sucked on the netting it would get less than 2% of a harmful dose of insecticide.

Just came back from Botswana--Pangolin Photo Safaris a must! (5 Replies)
Spent 4 days in Kasene in August. If you are anywhere near there, PANGOLIN PHOTO SAFARIS are the best time and money you can spend! We had the greatest time, taking photos of birds and game all through our stay- we went 6 times!!! By boat or by game drive, for sunrise or sunset, PANGOLIN provides topnotch cameras AND telephoto lenses! As someone who takes photos of tails and floors and people's feet, I learned so much from the professional guides that I ended up with some actual National...More
