The owner of Hotel Aranjuez recommended us to book a tour with Remy (the owner of El Mundo Verde travel), as we had expressed interest in visiting the most famous mountain in Cochabamba.
We booked a private tour for 4 people, and boy are we glad we did! As a native Cochabambino, I was surprised at the amount of knowledge Remy had regarding Bolivian culture, the mountain, and the Inca civilization. You could see the passion for what he does.
You can expect a trustworthy, professional, yet friendly and warm service with Remy and his company. Pickup was on time from our home, he had vegetarian options for lunch for the ones who wanted, and he was quite patient, as one of the members in the group was 15 and this was her first mountain.
Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend El Mundo Verde Travel and I fully expect to try different tours in the following months. As someone living in Cochabamba, it’s easy to forget the natural beauty we have around. Remy’s palpable excitement and love for Nature re-ignited my curiosity for exploration.
Thanks again buddy!

My friend and I spent a fantastic three days with Remy in Toro Toro National park at the end of January 2023. The park itself is incredible - very different to anything we have seen elsewhere - and Remy’s enthusiasm for all things dinosaur certainly brought the experience to life. The organisation was slick throughout and the itinerary was a nice mix of different activities during the days and chilling at the Umajalanta lodge in the evenings with wine and the view of the valley. While every itinerary item was a highlight, we particularly enjoyed visiting the Umalajanta cave and squeezing through tight passages, ‘discovering’ deserted dinosaur footprints with expert palaeontology lessons from Remy and hiking down into the canyon for a dip in the waterfall pools. It might seem significantly cheaper to try to piece the trip together yourself, but my feeling is that there is no way you could tap into the best parts without the local guidance. Remy and El Mundo Verde are an easy recommendation on that front. @Remy, thanks again for the fantastic few days and all the very best with the business.
PS. The park is completely empty, but with the new road being build from Cochabamba it won’t stay that way for long. Visit sooner rather than later if possible.

Had an amazing trip to the Salt flats, from the time we contacted Remy at El mundo, we were in constant touch and the communications was perfect.
We were a bit uneasy with the western union process, but thats what whole of Bolivia uses for payments from outside.
We were promptly picked up by the driver at the Bolivian bus station and the tickets from Calama to Bolivia by bus was also booked and all was done like clock work.
We did the 4 day uyuni and around and was the best trip as we could see the far away difficult to reach parts of Northern bolivia.
All places had vegetarian food as we requested.
We will definitely be booking our next Bolivia trip with Remy at El mundo.

We had a wonderful time in Toro Toro National Park. Our guide Remy was very knowledgeable about the region and also very kind.
The three day program was so diverse with great adventures from finding dinosaur footprints to swimming in the canyon. My two boys and I enjoyed every minute of it.
If you are an adventurer, I would strongly recommend el mundo verde travel for its high quality programs. You will not regret it!
Just one thing, I use Tigo and there was zero signal in the park so if you need to use the internet you’d better get a chip from some other company.

Remy is an amazing guide. In Toro Toro he brought the dinosaurs to life for me with his enthusiasm and expert knowledge. He had my imagination on overdrive. We were in the age of the dinosaurs, imagining what it was like 100 million or so years ago! The dinosaurs were all around, just like the footprints indicated to us! Imagine what it was like! And so I did. 😊 The rock formations, and earth around us was telling so many things, and Remy was able to impart that knowledge to me in a fun and exciting way!
I followed Remy into the Umajalanta cave. We navigated over huge rocks, crawled thru tight openings and hung onto ropes to ensure we didn’t fall into the watery depths below! So exciting, and with his expert guidance, I never felt afraid – exhilarating!!
We drove in his super well maintained Land Rover high, high up to the mountains just behind the Toro Toro valley. Caves that were formed hundreds of millions of years ago when water covered the area. Early civilization roamed the area. Truly a fantastical adventure!!
In total I spent 4 days with Remy. 3 days in Toro Toro and 1 day at the Incan site of Incalljata. I learned so much about the Inca’s. The site was again brought to life with his stories and imaginings! I can truly say one of the best guides I have ever encountered on my travels You would be lucky to ride with him!!

I absolutely recommend El Mundo Verde.
I contacted them for a trip to the Tunari Peak from one day to the next, the response was immediate. I was able to book without any issues and all my questions were answered almost right away - amazing costumer service!
I live in the US but, my extended family lives here. I wanted a one of a kind experience. Remy totally delivered.
He is passionate about Bolivia and it’s contagious! He knows so much about the Inca culture and the biodiversity of Bolivia that leaves you wanting to know more.
The actual trek to the peak was challenging, however, he made sure we were safe and had all me needed to summit.
We did! And it was totally stunning!
I recommend them 100% and will come back to do other trips with El Mundo Verde for sure.

We were very lucky that our two-day tour to Torotoro National Park could go ahead despite the blockades around Cochabamba. Our guide Remy, owner of the El Mundo Verde agency, picked us up at 7 a.m. at the Hipermaxi in Cochabamba. He was an absolute cheery person, open, friendly and warm-hearted - we noticed straight away that this weekend was going to be something very special. Remy (a Dutch citizen), who has made Bolivia his home for love, brings you closer to the culture, history, music and people during the trip and you notice how much he loves this country. His absolute enthusiasm for this country and his knowledge of dinosaurs is noticeable when you arrive at the national park. We crossed the park on foot, passing numerous dinosaur tracks, a magnificent view over the canyon and the waterfall, which is a nice way to cool off. In the evening, after a typical dinner in the hotel, we fell into bed dog-tired. The hotel is simply in a breathtaking location, in the middle of the countryside, absolutely quiet with a fantastic view of the various rock formations and the valley. Luckily, the weather was good and we were able to enjoy the view at breakfast before continuing our tour in the national park. The highlight of the day was the visit to the stalactite cave, which we completed with a helmet and headlamp. We climbed down over large and small rocks, crawled through and under rocks, or slithered like worms through some of the crevices in the rocks. After a good 3 hours, with slightly wet and dirty clothes, exhausted but overjoyed by these impressions, this day and thus our tour came to an end. On the way back to Cochabamba, Remy entertained us with his personal playlist and his singing talents while we once again enjoyed the view of the Andes mountain ranges from the window.
This weekend and especially this warm-hearted person Remy will remain in our memories for a long time and we wish him continued success with his company.

Torotoro is a truly incredible place. My girlfriend and I spent 3 days in this enchanting place, definitely in the top three of Bolivian landscapes that impressed us with their beauty.
We were lucky enough to have Remy and Jose as our guides who accompanied us during the 3 days to discover caves, canyons, dinosaur footprints, breathtaking landscapes and colonial villages. The organization and the service offered by El Mundo Verde Travel are very good. We slept in the Ecolodge Umajalanta located inside the National Park and surrounded by nature and quietness. Our stay at the Ecolodge was organized directly by Remy from El Mundo Verde Travel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with large windows that allow a beautiful view of the mountains of Torotoro. The food delicious with large portions and the staff attentive and helpful. Remy and Jose's knowledge of the place and the history of Bolivia, along with their energy and passion with which they do their work, made this tour an 'unforgettable experience.
Totoro with El Mundo Verde was truly an INCREDIBLE experience. 100% recommended

We visited Cochabamba and Toro Toro National Park as a portion of our longer trip to Bolivia. El Mundo Verde Travel, Remy, operated this part of our Bolivia visit. It was very personal and great to meet a fellow Dutchman in a far away country. Remy is a highly professional local expert guide with a very inspiring passion for this beautiful part of Bolivia. He is particular passionate about sharing his extensive knowledge on prehistoric times, we have learned so much about dinosaurs! Staying at the by Remy selected community ecolodge was the perfect spot to immerse ourselves in the unique features of past times, Toro Toro has several world records when it comes to dinosaur tracks. Travelling from Cochabamba to Toro Toro and visiting the actual canyon are part of this amazing journey. We want to thank the local team for giving us an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience. Remy assured us that there is still so much more to explore and see, we are really excited to return to Bolivia with it's unique biodiversity and amazing indigenous culture.

If we could rank this tour above 5 stars we would! Remy is super knowledgeable about dinosaurs, geology, Bolivian history, local plants and animals, and TONS more. He is also such a kind and thoughtful person. We had the best time exploring Toro Toro and learning about all the unique features of this beautiful place. We also hiked across beautiful landscapes and climbed through a super cool cave. This was the best tour we went on in Bolivia and it was all thanks to Remy. You will leave Bolivia as a dinosaur and geology enthusiast after just one day with him, but we recommend doing at least 3 days (2 nights). This tour is a MUST DO!

Hi
I'm looking to do the El Choro Trek in August. Do you have any availability and can we talk further via email?
Justin
Written May 24, 2017
Hi dear Justin, thanks for contacting El Mundo Verde Travel.
EL CHORO - CLASSIC 3 DAY INCA TREK
170$us per person with English guide, Or Spanish guide, 150$us per person.
The El Choro trek is the most popular trek with tourists due to its easy accessibility from La Paz, stunning views and varied scenery. Ranging from chilly Andean mountains, down through cloud forest to semi tropical rainforest it offers a range of conditions to deal with but is also a fantastic introduction to the varied environments of Bolivia and the different conditions you can encounter trekking here.
DAY 1 – La Paz to Challapampa - Mountains and Inca Paving
You will be picked up from the hotel at around 08:30 am. in private transport for the 45 min to 1 hour drive to La Cumbre (4.700 m.a.s.l.) which is the starting point for the trek. Here it can be very cold in the mornings and it is not uncommon to find snow and ice on the ground so you will need warm clothing for this section where you will start the trek which is going to lead us to the warm valleys of Los Yungas. We will walk up to 4.900 m. and here we will find the pre inca trail and then we start to descend. After around a 6 hour walk, we will arrive to the village of Challapampa where we will set up camp.
DAY 2 – Challapampa to San Francisco - Cloud Forest Views
Today is a harder walking day and involves several up and down sections . As the day goes on the vegetation becomes denser and the climate more tropical. The views are stunning and very typical of the “Yungas” cloud forest area. After around 6.5- hours walk we will arrive to San Francisco where we eat and spend the night camping.
DAY 3 – San Francisco to Coroico - Semi Tropical Jungle Trails
The last day involves around 5 or 6 hours walking and is mostly very hot so you will need plenty of water and it is advisable to use insect repellent. The trek ends at the village of Chairo and from there we will take a transfer to Coroico where our trek will come to an end.
INCLUDED IN TOUR
Private transportation to beginning of trek
Transport from Chairo to Coroico
Camping fees
Pickup from your hotel / hostel in central La Paz
Spanish-speaking trekking guide (English-speaking for an additional cost, see below - not always available)
Meals during trek
Camping equipment - tent, mattress
NOT INCLUDED IN TOUR
Sleeping bag - can be rented for 50 Bs (pay on first morning but let us know in advance)
Poles - can also be rented for 50 Bs
Water - we recommend 2 liters to start with, then you can purchase more from local shops on the way or you can refill from natural streams (in this case you will need water purification tablets that you can easily find in pharmacies)
Travel Insurance - recommended
Sunglasses and sun cream
Return bus back to La Paz 15-20bs
Entrance fee Chucura Viallage on route 10bs
ENGLISH-SPEAKING GUIDE OPTION
If you wish to hire an English-speaking guide there is an additional cost!! An English-speaking guide is not always available and in case we cannot confirm it, we will obviously refund you the extra cost you paid. The larger the notice you give us, the more likely it will be that we can confirm the English-speaking guide.
Any more questions? Let us know!!!
Very warm regards, Remy vd Berg
