I had my expectations high after visiting Museum of Old Believers in Vetka. The Palace museum was quite a disappointment. First, it's a post-soviet customer service at it's best. I had a feel that some of the personnel served their corvée to a local duke that day. Folks, I know you are at work but could you be a bit more excited about the museum? Second is the exposition itself. The exposition is very focused on the palace and it's former inhabitants. But let's be honest – without a story line and historical context it's difficult to see why the artifacts are there and why they are important. On the bright side, they had an amazing traditional clay sculptures by a local artist. That's something unique, but for some reason they were hidden at the very end of the exposition. To sum up, enjoy the park walk and save a trip to the museum for a rainy day.

I'm a not park lover but this one stole my heart! Beautiful trees and river. But the best part of it is park's inhabitants - animals. Squirrels were so hospitable - you can feed them from your hand!
