After spending a couple of hours in the safari park nearby we headed to Mahoney. Soon after entering the Park our group paused to cook our lunch in a campground firepit. Afterward eating we drove through the Park and looked for a suitable hike to do. We decided on the trails near the lodge. We hiked through the dense trees... More

We travel from Texas each year for Providential History Festival and we have stayed at Mahoney 5 of the 6 years. We stayed at Platte River SP once - and only once. We typically stay in a treetop with our family of 9 but this year we got Prairie Wolf 27 and the layout is great for a large family!... More

We visited this park for the first time as part of a reunion. We were pleasantly surprised with all there was to do. Whether it was a walk on a nice trail, the small arboretum, the expansive swimming pool, marina, or horse back riding it was well designed, with plenty to do for everyone. We did have a little trouble... More

We are usually easy to please and don't typically complain. We heard so much about Mahoney. In May we tried to make a reservation for a campsite. The only opening for a weekend was the last weekend in August. The week before arrival received an e-mail of limited hours in the water park. Friday the pool didn't even have water... More

MY wife and I spent three nights at Mahoney State park in the middle of August, 2016. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our morning walks on the paved trail around the park were great. You are also able to rent a paddle boat, play putt-putt golf, hit golf balls on a driving range, and go horse back riding. The... More

Wave pool, horseback riding, fishing, melodramas; there's many things for families to do while visiting Mahoney, don't forget the ice skating in the winter!

We stayed for 5 nites with our kids and grandchildren & had so much fun. There is plenty to do in the park and the surrounding area & the park is relatively nice. There are things that need fixing or an overhaul but it's still OK. I think the park rangers clean the rooms/cabins because they aren't really cleaned too... More

I really liked this campground but there were a few things keeping it from 5 star. There is currently construction near the entrance as it's a bear to get in and out. The campgrounds are well cared for but only a handful have water hookups. The sites are almost all pretty shady and not too close together. There are shower... More

Mahoney is packed with attractions from swimming, to horseback riding, camping, fishing, dinner in the ledge, renting a cabin, or doing a craft. There are plenty of hiking trails, a lookout tower, and even a play place for the kids. One of the best parks in Nebraska!

This is somewhat better than platte river state park. I mean both are wonderful if you like nature. This has a taller observation deck than platte river state park.
