- mysugarpieTulsa, Oklahoma435 contributionsWonderful and Unexpected DelightWhile camping at the nearby park, we came to town to eat lunch at the historic Tavern restaurant (so very special and delicious) and asked why we needed reservations to eat there. We were told about the local performance of the Agatha Christie play, "Murder on the Orient Express", one of my favs. We went to the lovely theater to inquire about tickets and they the friendly staff said they just had a cancellation on the FRONT ROW! We grabbed them up ($40 with senior discount), and returned after a short shopping trio on their lovely Main Street. The performance was sold out and superb! It was a very professional performance and an enjoyable afternoon. We hope to return and be one of the 415 people that still appreciate truly artistic activity in the havoc of this crazy world.Written January 24, 2022

- Diana SAtchison, Kansas4 contributionsA wonderful experience! We went to the Lyceum Theatre on the advice of a friend that grew up in a town near Arrow Rock. We definitely will be returning. It makes a great day trip from Kansas City and the acting was superb. The theatre itself is an historical education and was beautifully appointed. There isn't a bad seat in the house and it is intimate enough that you really become engaged from the first moment the curtain goes up! Do yourself a favor and go! While you are there Arrow Rock itself has a lot to do and see.Written February 11, 2015

This was our first trip to the Lyceum and the Jersey Boys production was fantastic! The intimate little theater made the special performance even more enjoyable. We’ll be back…for the next show, and we’re bringing friends!

Took my 5 year old to see Cinderella. Wonderful production and she thoroughly enjoyed the show. This is an old theatre and I found myself pretty cramped in the seats. My long legs were just not comfortable.

Our experience at the Lyceum Theater in September was great. The show was performed well and what is really appreciated is the access to the theater for elderly or handicapped. Our tickets had to be exchanged due to a conflict and they handled it with an even exchange with no problems. Great matinee performance.

Every couple of years the theater is fortunate to pull the Texas Tenors from their Branson, Missouri tour to come to their theater. We have seen them in Branson (1500 people) but this is so special to see them in a small venue. Same great show and the VIP option gave us a great time to visit with all three of them personally. The best group of tenors in America....High recommend!

This was my first trip with friends who come here often. The theater was a church at one time and is now a beautiful theater holding about 260 people! The Swingtime Canteen musical takes place in London during WW2 and features a female band and entertainers. It was light fun and excellent casting! There is a wine bar where you can get covered glass of wine for $10 and refill for $5! Great destination theatre!

I am wondering what to pack for my weekend to Arrow Rock. We are going to the Lyceum and I was wondering how dressy it is? Does anyone know?

If going to an evening performance the minimum dress should be business casual. No jeans,no shorts. Since you are going for the weekend you should also pack comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothes. There is much to see and do and some of the best parts are on foot. Hope you have a wonderful time. We did
