My wife and I rode the trail from Alex to Brandon. The trail meanders among lakes, ponds, prairie and farmland. It was an easy trail, nary a hill all the way. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride. We had good weather which is half the battle. We rode on a Friday in September, and ran into maybe three or four other... More

The Central Lakes Trails are beautifully maintained and offer a great place to walk, run or bike. Plenty of public access points and the scenery, lakes, parks and wildlife are really lovely. Not just a summer activity! Especially pretty in the fall.

We just did a short jaunt from Nelson to Osakis. Easy 6 mile ride. Fun to look around Osakis and visit the Panther distillery. Anxious to do more of the trail.

You can jump on this bike trail in Alexandria, Ashby, and other towns along the trail. Most of the trails is away from the highway --compared to the Wobegon trail which has long segments next to I 94.

A great trail to ride. We try to ride 3-4 times monthly. Much wildlife. We also invite our friends to join us. Many, many miles of paved trail.

This is a great trail for families. We enjoyed walking by the lake after dinner, but bring some Mosquito spray, the state bird of Minnesota is apparently "the Mosquito".

We drove to Alexandria just to hop on the bike trail. It is pretty new (2012) I think, mostly flat trail. There isn't a lot of tree coverage so it is easy to get a lot of sun. Trail goes through about 8 different towns. We pedaled to a couple of them but found nothing in the towns to visit... More

Trail is paved; it's in good shape. I rode west out of Alexandria. I really liked the section between Alexandria and Garfield. There are a lot of wild flowers. I saw a lot of swans and a muskrat swimming. There were several people biking but it wasn't congested. There were also people walking in places close to town.

This biking or hiking path goes through parks, along lakes and through towns so you can stop for lunch--path is exceptionally maintained and is good for bikers, hikers, skaters and boarders. Goes for miles and miles, town to town.

We love hitting the trail with our young children. The fresh air, beautiful scenery and nature in the palm of your hand makes Central Lakes Trail a must throughout the seasons in Minnesota.
