About
Pack up the car and escape to the countryside where memories can be made with friends and family. Michigan’s four seasons can all be seen in their splendor throughout the year at Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill. Plan a day of sipping hard cider, wine, or beer surrounded by soft pink apple blossoms in the springtime, pick your own ripe fruit and veggies in the summer, be captivated by leaves of infinite colors in the fall, and take a snowy wagon ride to cut down your Christmas tree in December. Blake’s Orchard is a family owned and operated establishment located on a 120-acre farm in the quaint village of Armada, MI, just an hour northeast of Detroit. This location is home to our original Cider Mill featuring an open-air apple press, u-pick seasonal fruits and vegetables, our Funland area, Blake’s Tasting Room and Restaurant, and Lovey’s Lavender Market.

I will never go here again, buy Blake's Cider or recommend this place in anyway. They are extremely greedy and unethical. We prepurchased tickets to the Sunflower festival, an hour wait to get onto the Sunflower patch 45 minutes after opening. A manager told us we could drive to the sunflower patch instead if we wanted. We took 20 minutes to go back to our car and drive back there. They refused to let us through. We told them a manager told us, they said they would check, came back and told us it was misinformation and wouldn't let us go back. I told him I wanted my money back and he walked away from me. Their website said they would limit walk up tickets today. THEY ARE LIARS. They were happily and greedily selling tickets to anyone who walked up. We spent $14 and 2 hours of driving for NOTHING.

I went with my family and we didn't have a good time. It was super busy and no social distancing was to be seen. Most people didn't wear masks and I was very sad what Blakes turned into. Every year for 5 years we went and it changed. It is supposed to be super family friendly and there was a huge area for hard cider. You had to pay a lot of money to get into the funland. Only one person from my family used it and it wasn't fun. When we decided we had enough of the cider mill we went to pick apples. There was no apples. We ended up getting none and when we got up to the pay window she said Next time we had to pay 20 dollars for nothing! I was super sad the a family tradition turned into this. That is a day I will never get back!

Disappointed and likely won’t be back. My wife and I this past Sunday went to the winery to have some ciders. Ciders we’re lousy and the food was even worse. Food is cheap in quality, high in price and not good. Blake’s is great to pick produce and to get apple cider but stay away from the restaurant and winery. The children’s play area was definitely not worth the cost. We don’t plan on coming back until possibly the fall to pick apples. Disappointed. Waste of money. Poor food and cider quality. Upper management needs to do a lot better to gain my business back. If they want to charge top dollar prices for ciders and food you better be giving me top dollar food for the price your charging. It’s a no brainer business common sense 101. Wife had the chicken tenders. It was 90% breading 10% chicken, the potato fries had very little taste, menu selections very poor and quality very low. Bartender staff was great but as I said… upper management needs to do a lot better job. I’ve heard from a few of our friends the ciders and food aren’t very good but we decided to give it a go. Bottom line.. should’ve listened to them. Spend your money else where

We have gotten a tree here every year for over 20 years, This year our group asked to be let off at the second stop because the first stop was totally picked over with very slim picking of not nice trees for $100. The driver of the tractor said this was where we had to get off for Fraser firs. After we cut a vey sad looking tree which cost $100 we got on another wagon to go back. On the way back we passed the next stop was a full field of beautiful Fraser firs which people were cutting. People on our wagon debated getting off and cutting another one there and just not picking up the first crappy one. I decided that since I cut the crappy one I would pay for it, but felt very ripped off by Blakes. We also brought this up when paying for the tree but the person at the cash register just said "this is my first year, that will be $100". 20 year tradition likely over...

Brought my grandchildren there today. Paid $11.95 a person for their fun zone which was supposed to include a train ride and a few other things. Had to even pay for adults even though we were not using anything in the fun zone. After paying, we found out that rides were not running and not everything was available as stated. The kids were very disappointed! Then I ran into our friends and they were allowed admission for free due to the fact that everything was not available. Really? Some people got in free due to everything not being available and some had to pay. When I asked about it I was rudely told that we paid for all the other stuff. We won’t be going back and would not recommend! I’ll find somewhere else to spend my hard earned money!

I used to take my kids to Blakes when they were little and they had fun and so did I. BUT things have changed since then It was so unorganized. Not only did the kids have to pay something like $19.00 to play so did the adult with the child. We just wanted to do a hay ride, corn maze, get a meal and buy some goodies to take home. They need to charge for individual games or rides, Or littlest one couldn't do most things and the older child thought the other stuff was too babyish. We went to go eat and the said they had one opening left 10 minutes before closing, so we didn't eat. We wanted apples, cider, donuts and pies. We decided not to wait in super long lines for it. We were all bummed when we left because it was suppose to be a happy and fun family day turned out disappointing.

Waste of time over priced crap cider is suspect, not a good taste at all. Once there my 5 and 6 year olds looked at me “like really ! You must be kidding right”
Boring to say they least.. your better off finding something fun to do and not waste the time driving there...

Our cousins took us to Blake's for some snacks. We bought all kinds of goodies to take home. Everything was good. Wifey and I especially enjoyed the Apple Slushie, Apple Cider, and the Peach Pie! Will return whenever we visit our family in Michigan.

By charging less for entrance and food. Wait time for food is 2+ hours. Wait time for Sunflower Festival 2 hours even though we purchased tickets ahead of time.
