It is a very nice municipal course! The tee boxes and bunkers might be the best in Washtenaw County.
The greens and collars while being boringly symmetrical on all but two greens are in above-average in condition. Compared to the common muni course, however, this one is very good. I realize that muni courses are reluctant to provide drinking water on course but finally in August, Leslie did so and I appreciated that, it was LONG overdue.
In my opinion this course has only two negatives from a golf perspective.
One, the fairways are far too tightly enjoined and you often have to wait for a golfer hitting an errant shot from another hole onto your fairway. Holes 1 and 3, 4,5 and 6, 10 and 18, as well as 14 and 16 all will present delays with other hole play. A minor annoyance that cannot be corrected by the course, unfortunately.
Two, the course is truly top-notch but has only FOUR tee locations! The over $100/round courses often offer as much as seven and virtually all of the other non-bargain courses in the county at a minimum FIVE! Leslie needs to buy and deploy another set of tee markers to join the upper echelon of courses around them.

Over the years I've played this course many times and have seen some modifications (not all good). But the course remains my all time favorite both for its beauty and challenges. Numerous hills offer scenic views on several holes and some of the holes are heavily wooded adding to the excitement. The front nine has little water but both par threes on the back nine require teeing off over sizable ponds. The course has always been maintained beautifully. For those not familiar with the area the course may be hard to find but it's well worth the effort. Highly recommended.

Every week throughout the summer, a group of 16+ seniors travel and play different golf courses through Detroit Metropolitan area. Today we played Leslie.
A very nice course nestled in the rolling hills of Ann Arbor. Course is extremely well maintained with a staff that is friendly and professional. Greens well watered as were the fairways.
Club house could use some renovation as it says “1960s”.
Very playable and for $25.00, including cart, how can one go
wrong.

Don’t waste your time here. I’ve never felt so unwanted or talked down too at a golf course. It’s an old boys club and both times I’ve been there as a female I’ve had horrible experiences with rude male staff members. It’s so disappointing these people represent our city as employees.

Happened to show up on their 50th anniversary. All day play for $25 (and $1 hot dogs)! An Audubon course, there are lots of wildflowers. Course was in great condition. Challenging but fair layout.

Played this course with my son the night prior to his campus visit at the University of Michigan. Layout was somewhat unique and cool, with some very challenging holes along with some classic risk-reward holes. A couple of silly pin positions, though, especially on the volcano-shaped greens (of which there were 4 or 5). Rough was a bit burned out, and the greens were a bit bumpy and burned out as well, but all in all a fun and interesting course that will challenge all levels of player.

I was on vacation in Ann Arbor and decided to play golf at Leslie Park. I liked it so much, I played again the next day. The course was beautiful - fairways and greens in great condition. It's ranked as one of the best municipal courses in America. Best of all, it is very reasonably priced - I played nine holes, with cart and rented clubs and paid just a bit over $30. Wow, what a great deal.
