This campus and the surrounding town of Ann Arbor is, for many, what a college is supposed to look like. Big impressive buildings, an engaged student body, and plenty to see and do. Take an hour, stroll the grounds and come to appreciate one of...More
Beautiful campus and great place to work! Take the time to head over to north campus for some impressive art sculptures. There are also some amazing buildings and beautiful gardens. You even might get lucky and bump into a robot in testing!
I did not attend U of M, but I am impressed by the campus. I especially like the Diag. and the Law Quad. and the Martha Cook Courtyard. U of M is an extremely wealthy school...but the amount of construction around the Union, Museum and...More

Ann Arbor has so much to offer. Weds and Saturday’s are the Farmers Market in Kerrytown. Shop, browse, eat etc. Zingermans deli is world renowned so you have to eat there. There is the State Theater which hosts movies, live concerts and tons of stuff all the time. Pack a picnic and go sit on the diag(sp?) and enjoy people watching.
The Art Fair is in July and one of the largest in the country.
We have a mall of course. Michigan Dairy is known for their amazing ice cream.
Blind Pig has live bands, The Ark has comedy shows and live shows etc.
You have a plethora of great restaurants on Main and Liberty but all over downtown side streets as well.
Grab or google a visitors guide and search top things to do in Ann Arbor.
Of course you do have surrounding areas and little towns like mentioned below, but I promise you can keep yourself busy in this quaint town.
UM Stadium is wonderful to tour and any of the arenas around will host sporting events. So if you have a favorite sport that is in season, grab some tickets and go watch.
Walk around campus and check out the law quad. Gorgeous backdrops for picture taking.
Painting with a twist is something that can be done, there are exercise classes all over that you can plop in to as well. You can kayak down the Huron River or Canoe. Skips rents out things like that if you’re interested.
If you have a weekend to explore and you feel like a drive, go North. Traverse City, Charlevoix, Torch Lake, Harbor Springs are all amazing and have breathtaking views. Nothing beats up north in Michigan in Summertime.
Hope this helps. Have fun and take full advantage of your stay
