This is a very nice gallery and I visit it often. The staff of artists is very friendly and knowledgeable about not only their own works, but those of their colleagues. Prices are very reasonable, especially if you're coming from the perspective of the Ann Arbor art fairs. Paintings, scultpures, photograhy, jewelry, and other artistic crafts, all made by local artists, really shine and you can get great art at a great value here.

This is a small gallery with paintings, jewlrey, baskets, and some ceramics. We always seem to find something little to purchase to support the local community. I think it is run by volunteers. If you are walking around town definitely worth a stop.

Thunder Bay Arts Council and Gallery is a great place to stop in and see the impressive variety of local artists' work. They rotate art often too! Stop in for great gifts!

This is a great little downtown store that has a wide variety of items produced by local and area artists. The store is maintained by the artists who take turns to be sure that it is open and available to the public. Great place to just browse too - lots to see!

Thunder Bay Arts Council Gallery better known as TBAC Gallery is tucked into one of the storefronts along Chisholm Street/US23. It is FULL of wonderful eye candy! Artists have sort of discovered Alpena, much like Sausalito out on the west coast. But our weather is different. There are wonderful gifts available hanging on the walls, displayed throughout the building and many are very affordable. Some y'might need a credit card, but things are available in all price ranges. For Christmas, I bought a number of sets of Michigan. WHAT??? Oh, let me explain. Sam Machulis, a Potter, and his wife Barb made these really cute little two piece state of Michigan clay ornaments. They are glazed, fired & available in different colors & the best thing is that Barb has their string adjusted so that when you hang them (mine is on the side wall of my 'fridge) the U.P. & the mitten are properly aligned. I give them to all my ex-pat Michiganders who had to go away. If you're NOT from Michigan, well, buy one & take it back to show people where you spent your vacation. & even if you don't buy anything, come on in & enjoy the beauty created by people who took time to stop and see...

There are presently 22 artist that have their work displayed in the Thunder Bay Arts Gallery. This is worth stopping in for a visit.
