Stopped here to relax for a few hours while staying in the area. Found that the South end of beach away from the playground equipment was almost empty. Had a wonderful afternoon reading and enjoying the sun and view.

A little rocky, but not too bad and comfortable once you get a few feet into the water.

This is a very peaceful location where you can get exercise while walking, and you can relax at the same time due to the wonderful surroundings. The Great Lakes do not have the magnificent waves that the oceans have; instead there are small waves which are more quiet. Sometimes you can see ships or boats in the distance, so every day one can encounter something new and different.

Nice little beach with a great play area right on Lake Huron. My grandkids had a blast playing in the water and looking for fossils. I was lucky enough to find a nice Petoskey Stone :) The beach was neat and clean with room for chairs and towels without being crowded. There is several restaurants nearby if you want to do a picnic. We stopped at the Dairy Queen less than a block away.

Dog Friendly!! That makes it an excellent beach as far as I am concerned. Generally not too busy except of the 4th and the Sand Castle contest! People buzzing!

We bought ice cream from the Dairy Queen and went back to the beach to eat our ice cream and enjoy the view. Always a well-kept beach with plenty of room to spread out. Because we visited in September, only a few people were there. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the beach and spectacular view.

We felt it was time to get out of our car and walk. This was just the place. The playground equipment looked excellent and the children were having a great time. Enjoyed watching.

Stopped by for a few minutes while in the area. Nice sidewalk along the beach for a stroll. Pavilion with picnic tables. Playground equipment. Splashpad looked rather new. Several families having picnics as well as enjoying the beach and water. Looks like a nice place to spend a quiet afternoon.

Was in Alpena for Little League Baseball Tournament. This beach had a large playground area with picnic tables. The perfect spot to eat and relax.

This beach is beautiful, with great views of Lake Huron. We were pleased to find very few rocks on this beach, and some of the few we did find we were delighted to discover were fossils. There are 3 playscapes for kids to play on, plus a couple of swing sets and monkey bars - lots of space for families to spread out and enjoy. The restrooms were nice and clean and there is an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after a fun afternoon at the beach. We would visit again when traveling to Alpena.

WE went down to the beach three times during our visit. The first two days were a little cold but the third was a beautiful warm day. My kids swam in the water - too cold for me. But they could walk out quite a ways in the water. They loved the beach and had a blast
