So interesting and fun to poke around. I had a hard time deciding what all to buy. There are all price ranges so kids would have fun digging through the rocks, too. Very nice older couple who are the owners.

Have been there twice and will go again. Very nice people who know a lot about the rocks and local terrain. Helpful and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

Great couple who know a lot about rocks, name origins and how they were formed. Plus they have a very nice German Shepard who has it made. If you are looking for any type of rock or mineral, especially kids who are interested in them , stop by this place on the way to or from Copper Harbor. They call them selves the Walmart of Rock Shop and they mean it.

Stopped on the way up to Copper Harbor with my family. While they poked around the piles of rocks, I pulled out my phone to look up the business hours of another attraction. The crazy guy who owns the place accosted me and demanded to know why I was taking photos, which I hadn’t. After explaining that I was looking up hours for something else, he followed me around outside. Annoyed, I went and sat in my car and waited for the rest of my party. The old man followed me again, knocked on my window and demanded to know again why I was taking photos. He then spun me some conspiracy theory that I was taking photos of his rocks to be able to sell them to people later. The guy is psycho. Save yourself the time, don’t go here. And if you do, definitely don’t pull out your phone

WOW WOW WOW! I was visiting a friend who lives in Hancock for her birthday and we stumbled upon this magical place on our way to a hike! She who has lived there for the past ten years did not even know that place existed! Truly a Walmart of fascinating rocks at super affordable prices! Well, if you don't want the very precious ones of course. Those can reach $4000 or even higher. It has two stories but I got stuck on the first floor for an hour and never even made it to the second floor. Then I talked to a guy named Richard Hiltunen who apparently is a Shaman which I did not know at that time. He took me to the back which had a vortex! It was a forest in the back yard which felt magical! He said he does not do that with every one and does not want to run any paranormal activity tours. He told me how this "place" was build on Indian burial grounds and how the spirits roam there freely. Very magical! I can't and I don't want to go into details of what happened back there as I did not ask him for consent.
Anyways let's get back to the rock shop! I am a teacher and the gentleman who took care of the 6 rocks I bought gave me such a good price! As if they know which rock/stone has to go home to its new owner...He looked at me and smiled after I told him I am a teacher and would like to have a discount. Then he gladly gave it. I took a brochure about that place and walked out! Honestly, ANYONE who is in that area should check it out! They have all sorts of rocks, minerals, stones even jewelery and art made of those stones. Such great variety and beauty!

Great variety of rocks and minerals. I really enjoy rough specimens and they had a great variety and were fairly priced. They also had the largest most complete fossils I've seen in a long time.

If you love rocks, this shop is a must see stop when visiting the Upper Michigan Peninsula! If they don't have what you want, then it's just not possible!!! Tables and tables of raw rocks and minerals, fill an outside area while the huge warehouse inside carries samples from around the world! The owner is willing to give you a deal if he sees your love of rocks! There is a story here also. Make sure you pick up the news article by the register to read about the special Forrest on the property and the story of a man who loves mining!
