Interesting experience

The dinosaur tracks are part of a dinosaur park. The park entrance fee includes a free guided tour in English/Spanish, which explains about the discovery of these tracks and the different types of dinosaurs identified. I recommend going for the 12pm or 1pm tour as they are the only ones which go down to visit the actual tracks.

The presentation is a shame
Oct 2019 • Solo
It's an amazing and seldom view. But the prsententation is ridiculous. You barely get information, the "tour" is a unmotivated guy speaking in an incomprehensible English showing no interest for 5 minutes at the beginning of you visiting the wall for 30 minutes. The museum is equally disappointing. Considering the importance and uniqueness of the excavations, this should be a way bigger deal. If you are interested in the field, you will be disappointed. It's little more than a foto-op.

Excellent and Informative

It's amazing seeing the footprints up close. I'd highly recommend doing the 12 or 1pm tours as they're the only ones that let you go near the footprints. The tour guide gives you a brief history of the place and then gives you a tour of the footprints.

I'd say you need about 90 minutes here in total , 45 minutes to take photos of the prints and 45 to walk around the park. The dinosaur statutes are lifesize and to scale which I thought was a pretty nice touch.

Fascinating to see the footprints...
Oct 2019 • Couples
I am fascinated by dinosaurs so I found it very interesting to see some real life dinosaur footprints!
Everyday they do the tours at 12pm and 1pm and the guide did an excellent job at explaining what we were looking at in just English and Spanish.
However, the rest of the park didn't have much to it. Mostly just plastic dinosaurs and some speakers playing Jurassic sounds. Probably designed for children so not worth the trip if you're not going to get to do the tour of footprints.

Fun Afternoon Activity

Admission for foreigners is 30Bs, which for what you get is a bit much. Also the additional 5Bs photography pass is a joke!- don’t buy it.
We made it in time for the 12:00 tour. We were all given hard hats. Divided into English and Spanish speakers and given a tour guide per group. The guide was good. He read out of a magazine mostly but was able to answer all my questions. After filling us with information he gave us 30min to take photos in front of the footprints.
The upper level of the park is full of fun dinosaur statues. The museum is small but has a few nice artifacts and the informal video is really good as well! There is also a fun kids activity area.
We took the public bus #4 or H and cost us 2.50Bs each. No need to take the touristic Dino bus for 15Bs.

The dinosaur tracks in the parque cretácico are an exceptional sample of great paleontological value. A combination of sheer luck and prudence has unearthed a plethora of dinosaur footprints near a cement factory. If you look through the fancy statues that the management has erected, you can admire the huge wall with the footpints. Go there at noon, because the excavation tours (which I missed☹️) are at noon and an 1 pm.

Kids enjoy it
Jul 2019 • Family
The prints are very well preserved and there are a number of different types. The guide was knowledgeable but spoke only Spanish. Doing the tour at noon is best since you can get close to the tracks.

The kids enjoyed the exhibits and the park, they had a great time taking pictures. The size of park was also ideal for kids.

Not humongous

Great half day adventure. Super easy dinosaur bus from main Plaza, take the 11am one. The staff will try and rush you into a free guided 10 minute tour, ignore this and go at your own pace. The free footprints tour leaves from the restaurant at the very top at 12 and 1,be there for this, you can go back round after.

Guided tour is informative
May 2019 • Solo
I have never seen dinosaur footprints in this scale and it’s very interesting for me. The tour guides spoke with a lot of enthusiasm and the process was enjoyable.

The first guide brought us through the dinosaur models which are supposed to be in 1:1 scale. Then the second guide took us down close to the wall that is full of footprints and explained how these footprints got preserved.

There’s a video in English also does a good job explaining the environment and the dinosaurs in this area.

Without this tour, I didn’t know the type of dinosaurs that were roaming millions of years in South America when Patagonia was still totally covered in ice. The guides didn’t just tell you about the dinosaurs that existed in this area. They included information about those preserved dinosaur eggs found in Argentina and Chile etc. I was in Salta and didn’t get this information there at all.

The sun was strong at noon at this altitude and it was a good idea to take a hat, an umbrella and water to go down to see the tracks.

I have seen many dinosaur skeletons or footprint replicas in museums etc but seeing footprints preserved like this and in such a large scale, it’s the first time! There are only two guided tours at 12 and 1pm. Only with guided tours can you get near the tracks.

Very disappointing visit, first you enter a plastic theme park full of dinosaurs. The museum was filled with plastic bones as well and afterwards they take you to the wall of dinosaur footprints, which was quite interesting. It’s a great park for taking your kids and youngsters, as an adult don’t expect something mind blowing. 🦕🦖
