Ask someone about the tour! It was only by accident that we were sent to a back office to buy a photography permit and we did not realise that a guide came with the permit. The tour was excellent and even reached the roof to look at the cracked bells and of course rooftop views over Sucre.

We took a tour of this church, crypt, choir and bell tower byt the church staff. It was so incredibly informative about the history, culture and religion. The view from the Bell Tower is very nice as well! Highly recommend

I was lucky to visit the church when it was open on a Friday night around 7pm. Everything was lid up and many people were praying.

Stunning building
Many paintings and artifacts
Would be much better with an English speaking guide or labels in English

It is a guided tour, in Spanish. It is a must go place, it is really interesting to know more about the catholic history in Bolivia and see really close all these really old stuffs, like the liberty bell. You may ring this bell and take pictures with the skulls.

San Francisco Church was a big surprise for me. I recommend going. The ceiling is incredible impressive as is the crypt. There's also some other really cool things like the wooden carved pulpit on the first floor and the paintings in what was the choral area. The tour guide was nice, but definitely not the most animated or interested. Enjoy!

You are allowed to take photos in this lovely church. The altar just like in other Spanish Catholic Churches is very elaborate and quite beautiful. Ceiling is interesting as are the side naves.
