A group of four of us went riding with Johnny as our guide. Three of us could ride, and one had never been on a horse before. We were quickly assigned to appropriate horses - I rode Calypso who was just great. The foal of one of the horses even came along for the ride!
The ride itself was excellent - beautiful views, a nice lunch stop, and some fast canters and gallops. The novice rider in the group was able to enjoy shorter slower canters with encouragement from Johnny who stayed behind to ride with her when she was nervous.
The horses were forward-going but sensible, and obviously very well-cared for. They had a good relationship with Johnny - at one point my horse was reluctant to go past something on the trail - but he gave a whistle and on we went.
A great tour which I would recommend to anyone visiting the area - suitable for all levels of experience, and it's good that you get the opportunity to do some faster riding as well!

It was a lovely day hiking in the mountains with my wife and Jose a funny, knowaleadgeble and interesting guide!! I highly recommend the full day hike to Maraga. Lunch was plain sandwich cookies and an apple, but it is good enough for the day.

Hello, thanks for taking time to rate our services. José is a great guide always happy to improve the experience of the many visitors who come with us to explore the Cordillera de los Frailes. We really apreciate your feedback and let me tell you that we are improving our packed lunchbox soon in order to provide a better service to all our customers. Kind regards,

We did a couple tours about two weeks ago with JoyRide. The staff is knowledgable, the included lunch was surprisingly filling, but more than a ting when we returned the last day to ask how to get into a convent a helpful French traveller working for them named Johan actually gave us a free tour as he was heading home for the day. That's good service!

I booked a trip to Uyuni. Trip was different than promissed. Joyride's reaction: we are not responsable for our partners service. They even implied I lied. The manager switched of her cellphone so the local employee had to sort it out. Don't go there!!!

We did a day tour with Joy Ride to see the dinosaur footprints at Maragua Crater.
The actual footprints were amazing to see, but we were very disappointed with the tour:

- The guide turned up late in the morning to start the tour;
- The bus was in poor shape and filled with dust;
- The guide was uninformed and unprofessional - unable to offer us any factual information about the local area, local people or footprints, but felt confident enough to offer his (inappropriate) opinions;
- The driver tried to get everyone on the tour to pay for an additional road block fee;
- The company was dishonest about the return time of the tour- several people booked this tour in our group with the intention to catch the overnight bus to La Paz that evening. We were all reassured we would return to Sucre in the mid-afternoon, but returned, despite the guide being aware, late evening, only with just enough time to catch the bus. The guide and driver, acted very unprofessional and irresponsible.

Choose another company!

Booked a fairly expensive two day trek with English guide - but he had no English. Overnight stop had electricity and solar - but cold showers only, and a nice fireplace - with no wood. Asked for some compensation on our return and made it easy for them by suggesting a meal in their own restaurant. We were each offered a sandwich 'and you buy your own drinks'. Shoddy treatment. There are other tour companies in Sucre which I suspect give back more to the community too in spite of Joyride's claims

A group of us used Joy Ride to go paragliding. Firstly, the company used a guide from La Paz who arrived in the morning to Sucre after an journey on an overnight bus. He didn't give a welcome briefing and kept swearing, making us feel all uneasy. He admitted he had never paraglided in this area before, he also admitted he was expecting the 5 of us to be here, Joy Ride had informed him of just 3 of us. Two of the group completed the paragliding without any problems, then came my turn, after being lifted white high by the wind he said we had to land on higher ground instead of landing down in the valleys like the previous two members of the group. When we landed i fell on my arm and he landed on top of me. A few days later I found I had fractured my collar bone. After my turn, another member of the group went, but the strings of the paraglide got stuck in a power cable which was directly above us. This meant the other two members of the group could not do the activity. The guide was apologetic but the Joy Ride guide was not sympathetic and she said the two girls would get a refund back at the office. We then waiting for an hour in the heat for the cars to come pick us up and take us back. At the Joy ride office no sympathy or apology was made to the girls and they refused to give them a full refund. After they're very rude supervisor finally came and rolled her eyes at us and huffed and puffed the girls eventually received most- not all- of their money back. After this the guys at Joy Ride offered the three of us who got to do the paragliding a free drink as part of the experience- but refused to give the two girls who didn't get to go- a drink- because they essentially hadn't paid for the activity. What a joke, be warned about this company and do not use them for paragliding!

We are in Joyride 3 times with different parties of friends. The food was delicious, but twice the service was very poor. One occasion I was served a plateful of rice instead while con carne with rice.

We also did the meteor crater plus dinosaur footprint trek. It normally leaves Sucre at 11.30am, we asked to leave at 10am - so glad we did because the easy 5km hike to the prints was actually about 12km and very difficult hike. It took much longer than was suggested by the girl in the office and we ended up walking 45 minutes in the pitch black...alongside a deep ravine and uneven ground. The guide didn't have a torch. If you do his trip - set off at 8.30am at the latest so you are not walking in the dark.

Initially I found Joyride to be an easy and friendly option to plan activities around Sucre. The price is right and they offer some nice trekking packages. I did a simple trek down the Inka trail with some friends. We were accompanied by a main guide and a second (trainee) guide. The main guide (Dorita) provided a brief explanation about the trail and its significance at the very beginning. Thereafter we didn't see much of her again until the bottom. She'd promised to tell us about the healing plants along the route, but instead was busy rushing ahead and speaking to our tour guide, who accompanied us, instead. Along the way there were several signs in Spanish that my wife translated for our group of 10, as the main guide was too busy chitchating.

We've been traveling through South America for nearly 2 months now, and it was the poorest experience we've had todate. It is a shame, because the assistant guide (Grover) tried very hard to fill the gaps, but his English wasn't at the same level as Dorita's. He was the saving grace for the company. My favorite part was when the main guide complained (in Spanish), how slow we were trekking down. The group had different skill levels and ages (up to mid-60s), and such a comment was uncalled for and very unprofessional. Sucre is a wonderful city, with great activities in close proximity. Skip Joyride and go with one of the many alternatives instead.

I never imagine that my Bolivia adventure 2012 could help me enjoy so much.
People from joy ride agency travel was the key sucess factor!
All the funny things appears day by day when they discover my inside needs of this travel (foods, adventures, cultural places).
Believe me, riding a motorbiking at first time in Bolivia was an outlier point.
I really believe that you take care in visitor!!
Thanks Nidia and Sergio for give me all your best... I strong believe that people like you are better than a traveller book.
Gracias !!!
