We arrived early in the morning, when the surface was mostly frozen and the flamingos still sleeping. We saw them wake up and enjoyed the magnificent colors.

What e nice and lovely place for visit. The countryside together with the great number of flamingos in this lagoon will make that you'll never forget this place.

Laguna Hedionda is less known than Laguna Colorada or Laguna Verde, but it is definitely worth a visit. There are lots of flamingos and you can get pretty close.

One of the most amazing, albeit smelly, places I have ever visited. Towering peaks and mineral rich lake waters. Throw in hundreds of flamingos and you have a totally magic destination

In the Bolivian Altiplano at high altitude is the Laguna Hedionda, a saline lake that is home to hundreds of beautiful pink and white flamingos. The surrounding area has many different features including volcanic rock, salt flats and wetlands. The colourful landscape made for great pictures. We were happy to see many llamas and alpacas grazing near by and then following each other in a line to the other side around the lake. Simply lovely.
